Career best form AND improving. Just a gun. What a classy player. Hopefully we get the best out of him.

Yeah, catcha Dom. Need to sharpen up the kicking. I thought he made a slight improvement in his major flaw (broadening his vision), but that is no use if he cannot hit a target. I would drop him even if he was in the VFL side. Sh*t kicking shouldn't be rewarded in any side. *On that note, thank god we haven't still got Scully on the list. Terrible kick, terrible execution, rushed, nothing has changed. He could have 40 kicks a game and still be a liability.

I thought we had the play most of the day and should've pumped GWS. They looked sub par to me. The fact we won IMO was largely due to GWS being an average side. Sure they could've kicked straight. We just didn't play consistent football today. It wasn't our worst game, but we can do a lot better. GWS are overrated. They aren't much chop.

Brayshaw alone is a handy inclusion. Tyson out - Brayshaw in.

It is one thing being a good kick, it is another thing being a good kick under pressure in the AFL.

Thank god for Tom Scully.

Thank god for Tom Scully.

This is how Watts played as a junior.
-
This is all Gawn/Oliver.

Roos wasn't much of a gameday coach last year. Nothing has changed. Great at everything else, not good game day.

This 50m rule is starting to sh*t me.

Send Hogan down back, not on the ball. FFS.

We should be pumping this mob, they are sh*thouse.

I love how Dean Kent doesn't stuff around with it.
-
Thank god Scully is out there.

Pederson has been pivotal up forward. He is providing a target, leading with intent and bringing the ball to ground - whilst taking 3-4 GWS blokes with him. Ben Kennedy has been a bit of game changer. Usual suspects in 2016 playing well: Watts, Viney, Gawn, Salem.

I agree. From what I have seen they are very similar players.

I hope Trengove's injury was the thing holding him back (speed wise, etc) when he last played. Because as a junior, he was so clean, well balanced, poised and could execute really well. He is exactly what we need to drill the ball into Hogan. We have the bull at a gate style players that can extract the ball, now we just need the calm, classy outside types that do not panic - Trengove was that player in under 18's. Watts is similar in that regards. Good to hear Petracca got through unscathed, I've been backing him for the rising star for quite sometime now. Soon people will understand why, he is a level above these young kids who just enter the system. Petracca is a different beast, I was glad we landed him. We have a hell of a list, when I start reeling names off, I think we have the best - and most diverse - young list in the league.

Eleven Pies players test positive to illicit substances
KingDingAling replied to McQueen's topic in Melbourne Demons
So we've had 34 Essendon players systematically take performance enhancing drugs, and now this allegation of illicit drugs at Collingwood (and possibly worse at other clubs). The AFL has implemented this drug policy, and if these allegations have substance to them, then the AFL have a lot to answer for. There really needs to be an independent committee that oversees these areas, and not an AFL that is beholden to the AFLPA. -
Bernie Vince set to sign new deal
KingDingAling replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Vince can play till he is 35. I've always thought that, he is a footballers footballer, and those type of players don't age, not in this game. People always like to say that the game speeds up and older players cannot keep up, and that is partly true, but that it doesn't apply to all players. Players who rely on football smarts, skills, and have never had to rely on speed, they do not age. Guys like Mitchell, Vince, good on both sides of the body, they have lesser need to break the lines.- 56 replies

$cully Dumped from GW$ Leadership Group
KingDingAling replied to Redjacket's topic in Melbourne Demons
Whitfield, Kelly and Steele should comfortably overtake him for that third rotation in the midfield. Devon Smith has been pushing up into the midfield, and Reece Palmer is a better midfielder than Scully. Even this year I don't see a position for Scully, it is just that he is contracted, so they have to play him, he has no trade value. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
KingDingAling replied to Freddy Fuschia's topic in Melbourne Demons
I will continue to back Petracca for the rising star - as I have for a while now. He would've been a very big kid if he had of started in his first year. An extra year in the gym, a year in the system, and a year with the group. Petracca is going to be the guy to beat for the rising star, and that is even if he starts round 4-5. I remember watching him as a junior and thinking to myself that he was on a different level to other players. I never expected we'd land him. I have - and will - continue to back him for the rising star. The only thing that has changed is that I am now also backing Oliver (as a saver), and maybe more than that, he is transitioning well, he is a logical threat. I backed Cripps ahead of Hogan last year, so I am not much of a punter. I didn't expect Hogan to be that dominate, and think it is positive for us - and him - that he was/is. -
I think it is brilliant that Hogan is an independent thinker, and isn't swayed by d*ckheads in the media.
-
Regardless how impressive Hunt has previously looked in the VFL. He didn't look up to AFL standard. I would be surprised if he started for round 1.

Grimes is not up to it, and he hasn't been for a long time now.
