  1. I haven't seen nothing in Toumpas that would suggest he'll be a star. But at the same time he hasn't had a fair run at it either, he shouldn't of been out there last year. Everyone seems eager to suggest he'll either be a star or a failure, but how about we give the kid a bit of time before we cut him down.
  2. JKH as captain, Jones for Vice.
  3. I am looking in the rear view because I pointed out Wines had an exceptional debut year. Get real.
  4. Not one to get caught up in the hype, but he is a brownlow smokey.
  5. Bernie Vince is a footballers footballer, he is a midfielder - who can slot forward. Sylvia was a mostly a flanker who could run through the midfield. Vince being pushed out of the Crows might the exact motivation that he has needed to kick him into another gear.
  6. Well said... A well run AFL wouldn't even consider letting clubs make money off pokies. One thing we've learned this year is that the AFL has no ethics or integrity. The biggest game in the land and the best game in the world, wrecked by greed.
  7. Peds is capable but soft. Will mostly play at Casey.
  8. Salems strike rate for getting in the best players during the TAC cup is far superior to any player that played TAC cup. We are just lucky Salem didn't turn it on in the nationals. Kid is a steal, absolute steal, he will be a top 3 player in that draft, he has it all Probably just need to throw him in the gym this year and ease him into it.
  9. Care to elaborate on that?
  10. Why should King act with integrity when the AFL doesn't? In recent times the AFL has just been full of underhanded deals. Essendon mixing with very suspect individuals. King hangs around the boxing scene, to ask him not to mix with bikies would be asking him not to box.
  11. It's not uncommon, you just have to look at America, where people are labelled racists for simply pointing out that Obamacare is a flawed system
  12. I agree, I think it should start through education, give them a better foundation for the future, but that's just my two bobs worth.
  13. If you want an insight into Liam's fan club, read the other Jurrah thread. I might even bump it for you.
  14. This one will test us. I expect young Billy to be in the top 10 range. Depends on where we finish, but we already have a list stacked with kids. It's not the all and end all if we have to pay slightly overs for him. Certainly not as big as getting Viney in the 20's, which was steal of the decade.
  15. I'd of liked that post, but someone has taken away the like button since the last time I was here. Good post.
  16. I agree. The comparison between Wines and Selwood is spot on, not only do they both have great inside games - but they are both leaders of men. I hope for Toumpas sake that he isn't always lumbered into the Wines debate and in fairness to Toumpas, he done very well to play games this year given his preparation. We shouldn't of played Toumpas as early as we did this year - and likewise Trengove and Clark.
  17. LOL at the posters downplaying the dominant debut year that Ollie Wines had. Shame on you lot.
  18. The implementation of GWS was never going to be easy. There are those who argue that GWS and GC got far too many concessions - yet the some of the same people continue to deem GWS a failure because they are lingering on the bottom. GWS will not be lingering on the bottom for much longer, once their youth improves they'll make the climb. I think the implementation has gone about as well as expected at the GWS - given the location.. I don't think GWS will be a success though, but not due to anything in the AFL's control.
  19. Demetriou is doing a splendid job, it's not easy and he is protecting the AFL brand. At the moment he has Hird in check, soon to be check mate. Bye James, you won't be missed.
  20. Geez, if we can get Toumpas and Trengove to play up to their junior form, christ! Roos will look like a deadset genius.
  21. It's the racing industry, I'd be more surprised if something dodgy didn't go on - than if it was all above board. Apparently Jimmy wasn't showing much in training, that's what we do know. So, what is the best way these guys can profit? It would point to the death of the horse, it's quite simple logic. Money is the end goal and when the animal can no longer provide max profits, then the animal is dispensible - especially if he is worth more dead. I do not for one second agree with this, but I believe that is what happened. Except Jimmy survived.
