The real Judd playing this Sunday

Forget the traitor who moved to Carlton and has a stuffed groin

This Sunday, we will bare witness to the exploits of Simon Buckley, as he puts the foot on the accelerator for some grass burning runs down the MCG corridor, leaving a trail of Hawks in his wake!!

Our team has lacked speed for a long time. Buckley is faster than a cheetah, and the kid has skills. If he backs himself, get ready for him to make his mark this weekend.

He'll probably score the highest of any demon in the rising star. Wasn't impressed with him alst year, but from what I've seen and heard of him this pre-season, he's really impressed me. It all counts for nothing though if he doesn't perform on the big stage. Good luck to him.

Wait until both Buckley and Dunn are at full flight in a match together. You'll have lead in your pencil Yze_magic. I know I will.

I couldn't give a rat's arse aboot Judd or any other high-priced football mercenaries that don't want to play for our great club.Carltank were not one or two top class players away from being a premiership contender last October, rather, they were setting brand new standards-in sucking for the past six seasons.Buying great players like him when your club is rebuilding rarely does more than increase the gap between the highest and lowest payed players on the list. This, coupled with the fact that he was handed the captaincy withoot playing a single game for the club(surely Stevens,Waite or even Carazzo were more appropriate choices) could lead to a lot of resentment and and possibly a number of walkouts at the end of the season if there's little or no improvement at the end of the season, god help him if they actually go backwards!!!! If talent alone won premierships, then Freo would have won 2or3 of the last five but it takes so much more than that, unpredictable things that you cannot buy- like a good run with injuries, few if any suspensions, good fortune during the games, veterans rediscovering their talent, the natural improvement of the youngsters, unity and most importantly-team spirit. Carltank are still trying to take shortcuts like they've always done and ultimately they will fail because of this. I honestly think we are on the right path at Melbourne and I don't think that the pain will last as long as most people think- I'm betting that after a slow start to the season 3-8 or 4-7 first half I think we will have gelled as a team under DB, hopefully our injury list will be shorter than it is now and with more than half of our remaining games at the G, I'm predicting a 12-10 finish which just might allow us to sqeeze into the 8 but if not, who cares, just as long as the boys have a red hot go every time they put on the jumper, that's all I'm asking for this year!!!

The comparison's simply not fair, nor is it right to put so much pressure on the kid. Judd's now into his 7th season of AFL, has 134 games at WCE (and 1 at Carlton) behind him, a Brownlow Medal with plenty of skill and pace and is good on both sides of the body. Buckley's a long way from that - he has 6 games under his belt and starts his second season tomorrow. Although it would be nice if he could emulate Judd's record, he doesn't have to be a Chris Judd - I'm happy if he shows continuous improvement in his early years at the club and plays in lots of winning teams which is something Judd hasn't been able to do recently.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
