Well apparently the decision has been made and will be made public today or tomorrow.

I thought i would make a thread about discussing this as its a big time for the club.

I was listening to SEN on the internet and one of the blokes said out loud that Stuart Fox would be just having to say his goodbyes at geelong today etc.

I dont know much about Him or the other guy , only know about Mcnamee. Should i be getting happy if it is indeed Stuart Fox?

I would prefer Paul, I think people seem to think that Fox is from geelong, geelong won a premeirship so now we will!!!! I don't know much about him so I don't say this with any authority, but McNamee seemed to be higher profile to me.

you're right, mcnamee has the biggest profile, and seems to be a great administrator, but he's never worked in AFL football before... Fox has seen the great things Cook has done down at Geelong, and the most important thing, he knows what's required to run a successful AFL club...

the way I see it, McNamee is Kevin Sheedy, high profile in the media, would create some positive spin for the club, however Fox is the Dean Bailey, the one who seems to really know his stuff, knows what needs to be brought to a modern AFL club...

this is all speculation, but i think this is how it will pan out...

A good analogy there Vanlo. Look who ever it is.. will need to get going at a million miles an hour to stay ahead of the "inclement ' weather that seems to constantly haunt us.

Hutchy mentioned on SEN this morning that he thinks McNamee is the front runner.

I think all three sound promising.

McNamee has a big profile, has dealt in obtaining large corporate sponsorship.

Fox - has learnt from one of if not the best in the biz and part of a recent premiership.

Conlon - has been around footy, and is the GM of part of a large international brand.

McNamee is a close one for me....

A very very good analogy indeed...Paul would have brought razzamataz and we need some of that...does it have to come from the CEO though? Maybe they are better off with their hands at the wheel.

How many club AFL CEO's have a high profile anyway? I can only think of Cook & Swan, and if Swann hadn't defected from the filth then nobody whose come within cooeee of a bar of soap this millenium would have known who he was anyway!

Razzamatz will have to be generated elsewhere....I suppose a Lady Godiva reinactment is out of the question Bev???

Since Vanlo Bailey-Fox analogy I'm starting to favour him however McNamee will be a massive coup.

Awesome name by the way, Stuart Fox. Makes him sound smart, even if he is not. In the same league as Max Power for mine.

Who is Trent Steele's oldest and dearest friend.

OK Bev no need to do the Lady Godiva reenactment now...and I'll take the horse back to the stables for you.

SEN jst said MFC has issued a statement confirming Paul Mac has been apointed CEO. Terrific news!! He, CC and DB will make a gr8 team - going to b intersting to see who out of Paul and Chris is most efferescent through the year!!!!

One of his first tasks will be to ensure that such announcements come ot on MFC website first!!!

NOW LETS GET ON with it -- 2008 season and 150th year!!

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
