But seriously is there a line? How long is it?

Mousey - this could be the answer to our woes - find 22 willing young ladies and in 20 years time we can have 22 Jonesy out on the G battling to bring home the flag - would the father son rule cover that?

Sorry, pathetic, I know but getting no joy reading the scores or match reports so inventing my own fun

Dunno why everyone is surprised to be honest

Short term pain, for long term gain

Has to be done

Look guys and gals we are just going to have to give them time. Time for the young kids to get games under their belt and time for the Coach to develop the ones with potential and weed out the ones that are gone. I know we have all been waiting ages for it to be our time but its not , theres going to be a lot more loses to come. So lets suck it up and hope Bails knows what he is doing.

By the way, there are 119 people viewing the thread at the moment. It could be more than are actually at the game.

Nah it's not.....I watched the first half. had to leave early because on my way out, but there was a heap of people down there today!

IMO......decision making was shocking......too many times we held onto the ball for too long.

A lot of players simply not in good touch, and the team isn't gelling yet.

North looked far more advanced, and much slicker using the ball......Wells was red hot through the middle.

its fair to say we are in huge huge trouble this year. This consistent pattern of falling away after quarter time is very concerning. Practice game or not, its unacceptable.

Baileys reaction to the loss last week shows he was expecting a lot more, so this is not part of his "master plan".

The problem is, Bails has been saying the exact opposite. "We are not rebuilding". 'Rebuilding gives players an excuse for losing".

I'm out, going to have a beer and kick the footy with my daughter, her enthusiasm would nt go astray in the current list...and she is only 16 months old.

Melbourne [censored] me at the moment...

My daughter's at work but I shall "have a beer" anyway.

I wonder how the players and the club plan to attract members with the hidings we've been gettig in the past few week. I know its early, every one says this, but for crying out loud, in the famous words of John Kennedy "DO SOMETHING!!!!!!"

Im also worried about the off field repercussions of the season we are about to have....

It is clear that more players should have gone at the end of last year, we are just dragging out the rebuilding process now.

Theres only so many u can clear out in one hit . Look this year may be a tough one but I see a lot of promise in that we have Chris Connolly doing a lot of wotk behind the scences to get us up and with a new CEO with the selling of the club to the co operates is what will happen. Oh and I havent even mention the new traing facilities. So chin up lads we'll get there.

Yeah, there's a lot of development left in the likes of Neitz, Yze, McDonald, White, Holland and Robertson. Others such as Whelan, Wheatley, Green, Bruce, Carroll, Miller and Bell have gone beyond the development stage.

If the club isn't being upfront with it's supporters, there'll be a massive drop-off in memberships.

I'll be interested to know whether the backline is as truly bumbling and feckless as a score of 24.14 would seem to indicate.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
