Adelaide getting the business done

Adelaide is making the early running on the final day of trade week. It just recruited defender Brad Symes from Port Adelaide in exchange for pick No.28 - which the Crows had received from Sydney in the Marty Mattner deal.

Roos ruckman Brad Moran will now call Adelaide home.

The Kangaroos traded the 200cm big man to the Crows for pick No.37 in this year's NAB AFL Draft.

So the Crows have virtually swapped Meesen for Moran, and Mattner for Symes.

Plus they'll get a pick from the Bulldogs for Ben Hudson.

Anyone banging their heads against a brick wall over our current plight should have a look across the MCG carpark to Punt Rd. How Richmond can justify trading pick 19 for one of the softest players running around is beyond me. Had Melbourne made a similar deal, I would have been tempted to ring up sports talkback on the radio for the first time ever. Truly astonishing ineptitude from the Tigers brainstrust.

Symes is a great pick up for the Crows.

I'm not sure why they would persist with Moran when they have Biglands returning from injury and Griffen and Maric showing a lot of promise. If anyone I thought they would have pushed harder to get Cameron Wood to come home.

I am surprised at Richmond's interest in Jordan McMahon. Struck me as exactly what they dont want.

Agree, glad we did not get mcmahon.

I can't see the appeal either. He is soft as butter, and while he has pace, his disposal is often very slack.

richmond trade another pick for mitch morton.

at least he's only 20 i suppose, still don't see what's going on down at punt rd.

hopefully they then pick up morton in the draft, and let cotchin slip through to us...*excellent*

We are probably going to lose Cotchin (and pick 18) because of that Carlton win. Great if he slips down but now looking unlikely. Would have had pick 18 which is only 4 picks lower than what we got for Travis.

2, 14, 18 and 20 has a nice ring to it doesn't it?

humorous listening to greg miller...

mcmahon has pace as discussed but turns it over and is unaccountable!

tigers could get brennan in the pre-season but again, he has failed to deliver...

at least we know we are better than the tigers!!

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
