Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We shood look to trade Johnstone to one of the following for the earliest pick we can get - St Kilda, Brisbane, Fremantle, Essendon, W Bulldogs, Richmond, 1st rnd pick +.

And we should try and get rid of Bruce. I don't care if he has just signed a contract, he will not win us a premiership, none of the senior players will, get rid of them now whilst they still have value. (this excludes Neita of course)

I've got a feeling that they might save Bruce for Trade next year, just a gut feeling.

I'd like to see him gone for suitable trade.

Johnstone for Jolly= no trade

Johnsonte+miller For Jolly+pick11 = AN AWESOME TRADE!

aha. bailey made his decision on johnstone a long time ago because one of the questions in his job interview was whether he would trade or keep TJ. i recon TJ should stay but if we get jolly and pick 11 and finally get rid of miller, we are really on to something

I've got a feeling they want Bruce to get back to his best form, and carving up the opposition teams with elite fitness, and ability to go forward and kick goals!

When he is on song, Bruce is a star!!!!!

I will back Bailey 100%

if he trades someone, I will support his decision

If he keeps the list together, I will support that

Everyone will become different and better under Bailey

We desperately need to trade for a good pick. We have to many good players and not enough guns. TJ for pick 11 looks ok. If we have to throw in something extra.

We have to fit Wheels, Bartram, Rivers , maybe Pettard back in . Plus keep Newton, Dunn, Bate etc in.

I say get early picks and use them well.

Let the Maggs trade themselves out of this draft. I would give the Maggs our pick 4 for Ben Reid if they want Judd.

Will Ben Reid be better than who is potentially available in this draft though - that's the $64 question. I think it's immaterial anyway. I think West Coast will tell Judd they won't trade with Collingwood and he'll have to make do with the tankers.

Personally don't want Jolly back. He left because he wanted to be a No.1 ruckman and now that he isn't No.1 ruckman at the swans he wants to be No.1 ruckman for Melbourne after Whites gone. So a big NO from me over that deal.

Any news on Meesan though? I dont know much about him but he sounds alright...thoughts?

When he is on song, Bruce is a star!!!!!?????????

He was a crucial member of the two premiership sides of 1992 and 1994 playing as a wingman who with Dean Kemp and Peter Matera formeed a damaging centreline. He was the type of player who could turn a game off his own boot with a flash of brilliance but equally would put his body on the line when it mattered.

This is what a star does, ("would put his body on the line")

Trapper is worth way more than Jolly! If Jolly is coming back home, then Jamar and PJ may be playing elsewhere next year.

Big risk trading trapper- when he is hot he is our best!

That is one of the best posts I have seen form you for ages Y_M and I agree with it completely........

I am not so sure there will be a hell of a lot of trading done this year, maybe one, or two at the very outside, for this very reason and we can only hope that the team that we have seen run out for the last umpteen years, will be refashioned and reprogrammed into what we want them to be.

Bailey has given good tough signs of change already and hopefully his treatment of his team will be no exception.

And frankly I am really looking forward to seeing what he may be able to do with a few of our chronic under performers (some if not most of whom will still be playing whether people here like it or not). That is not to say that I don't want us to go after someone who will improve our list, but whether there are changes or not within the list it is wise to remember that there is a massive change at the helm and hopefully the attitude as a result, and that is a great place to start.

Johnstone for a player that knows what it takes to win a premiership and actually cares that he is playing football is a fare trade if you ask me. Johnstone has, and always will be, an uninterested waste of talent. By all means, he could have been just as good, if not better than Judd. Instead he is a gambler, alcoholic, spoiled brat that earns too much and has never reached his full potential, albeit in flashes. Stuff him.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
