[....

Its a good result given they beat Sandy at TBO last time. And Sandy had a weaker side this time at least on paper than when they last played.

Its disappointing that Some MFC listed players did not feature more in the best. Not a good sign at all for a couple of players.

how about millers 3 goals? might be needed next week,........

To do what??

So a player fails to catch the attention of the official that picks the best players.... all of a sudden that isn't a good sign? 1 bad game?

You're very ordinary indeed, Champ.

Good to hear Buckley played well. I've recently become friends with someone who's been friends with him since they were kids, and she says he lives and breathes footy. Was a die-hard Melb supporter, and has made playing in the red n blue his life. Apparently he is insanely hardcore compulsive about it, doesnt go out pubbing etc, and trains himself into the ground, whether with the team or on his own. Was sad not to be playing this weekend, but will continue to work his ass off to be able to pull on the red n blue. It's always good to hear about players who have a real passion and pride for the jumper :)

I was at the game and you can take it from me that irrespective of the official best players, Simon Buckley was easily the best player on the ground. So when the publicity starts about the possibility of a Buckley playing in Friday night's game, the Buckley could be Simon, not Nathan.

Which player is that "Champ"?

For players that are on the MFC fringe, the inability to be prominent in a VFL game is not a good sign especially when for some of them its been consecutive weeks. And its only a sign in the absence of further information.

What is your problem?

I was at the game and simon buckley was clearly best on, it is usually a problem with the best with sandy officials doing the best the tend to put sandy players in over melb ones.

Also did anyone see the 2's and hughes's goal. One of the goals of the year!

Does anyone think guy martyn looks like the zebra mascot? He has a fairly big head and a smallish body lol!

No problem "Champ" but you make such sweeping statements that hold absolutely no water. Instead of " Not good for a bunch of Melbourne listed players not to make the best", name them and how often they have been outside of the best.

I think you also need to assess who actually chooses the "Best" players, several times last year a Melbourne listed player would absolutely dominate a game, yet be overlooked for a Sandy youngster.

Don't take it all on face value, Champ.

It was only reference as a "sign" petal. It was not a sweeping statement. Its not relevant who chooses it. The relevance is the MFC listed player performing and justifying his selection. I dont have to names. But your the one big on your own research. Go do some.

Try Bizzell and CJ for starters. Its now been a number of weeks and they have not apparently dominated at this level. They should be.

BTW, it is not good sign for MFC player not to be prominent in the best. If they are fighting for their careers its not. I dont care who selects it.

G'day Mono, didn't see you there. PJ went ok, did some nice things, Miller went OK, attacked the mark & pack hard on a couple of occaisions. Got the ball plenty but doesn't trust his instincts to use the ball himself. Prefers to dish it off for someone else to use it. I wonder if he's a virgin. Looked to find a little of his aggresion at the ball. Our new coach might be good for him, another year for him. I'm starting to like buckley more, he looks a little more comfortable after a few games in the red & blue but needs to push himself for his own development. Garland is a beauty to my mind, he looks to me like a thinker, a kid who seems to think very calmly on his feet & gives me the impression that he's very conscious of what's happening around him & his place in his world, a master of his own destiny & overseer of his development. He's giving himself the time he needs to learn & grow physically. Watch him over the next 2 years.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
