Question about Saturday Night

I still would have huffed. Aaron of all people should have been there on time..

We must have been drunk & didn't have enough credit on his phone to let Neale know he couldn't play..

Good post though!

It was in the days when our rooms were in the Southern Stand. We are AFL members and the players used to have a special section reserved for them and their better halves, friends, rels, etc; Aaron was obviously down in the rooms before the match and came up to sit with some mates who were sitting in the same row as us. I think it would have been his first season. I also remember him all decked out in the club suit, shirt and tie, with nice black polished shoes.........and white anklet sport socks - a great look! He was really nice to my kids and the other kids sitting around him and everytime we go to a footy clinic he is great with the kids - King of the Kids actually.

Was only joking but again, great post. It's good to have fond memories isn't it?

Ah memories - that's all we've got at the moment. ;)

I kinda figured you were having a laugh but I thought I should explain it a bit better. My kids miss having the players sit in "our" area.

I know this it doesn't matter a great deal but this thread has got me thinking, hjow can there be different times on different sites? I know it is only 5 minutes btu surely all sites and publications would have the same time, either 7:10 or 7:15.... ?

You are right St Jon......for a professional organisation there is oh so much wrong with the AFL. Our website and the AFL website should surely have the same info.

It's definately 7:15pm. Like every other Saturday Night game in Melbourne this year.

For some reason they've changed the starting time this year (from 7:10), without communicating it in full to the public.

I heard a rumour the game is going to start at 19:12:30 just so we can all be half right! Actually I started the rumour.

Does it matter????? Just get there - we need bums on seats and if we have to wait an extra 5 minutes, well, care factor nil. JUST TURN UP!!!!

How dare you! :o

I now don't know what time to get there, my brain will explode!

Yeah - a tough decision - I mean you can do so much in 5 minutes can't you????

If you see someone outside at 7:10pm walking around in circles looking indecisive. That will be me.

Nah - i hate them - should have to sit somewhere else far far far away from us true lovers of football....even worse when they are from another team.

I hate the pissheads who decide to go get their beer as soon as the siren goes for the start of the game/quarter.

Gees, could you go get your drink any later?

Then they walk past with "excuse me sweetheart", spill their light beer on my head/jeans/bag, all while I'm trying to watch Juice and Brock and so forth! <_<

P.S.- if I can make it there by 7:10 and I don't finish my work meeting till 6:30ish, you all should have no excuse!

Network 10 at 7.30 pm.....assuming you are in Melbourne.......

Yep, because if you are anywhere else (well in Sydney anyway) you have the fantastic choice of Swans v Saints on both broadcasters <_< .......

Not to mention having the rare third option of actually being able to go to the game (which I am by the way)!!!

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
