from what i've seen, when his body develops he'll turn into an agile, tall defender who reads the play well and can be accountable. he seems clever with a good footy brain and is 192cm so is a good height.

at the moment he is as raw a youngster as we'v had at the club.

Raw yes - frawley was pretty raw when at Garland's number of games.

hold out good hopes for him being a medium/tall defender. maybe he will grow a few cms. Stronger than Ferguson will ever be.

Garland is no good.

So definite after only a couple of senior games.......

I like to think that it is just way too soon to tell with any kind of absolution, but we remain hopeful and only time will really tell.

My club palyed against him a few times as a junior. Always thought he was no good.

He was over rated as a junior and I always thought, no way can he make it.

Didn't play against him, he is older than me. The club was Carrick in Tassie. They played against which ever team he was in a few inter-league practice matches.

I didn't know Carrick even had a footy club. Learn something new every day. Anyway, are you sure you've got the right guy? Garland has only been playing footy for a a season or two after a layoff.

Sorry to hijack the thread guys, carry on.

Well that's what people said about Heath Shaw, look at him now...

garland has only just come back to football in the last season or two. he is an athlete that we are training to be a footy player, but he already seems to have natural smarts. to me he needs size or pace before he can make a bigger impact. he is a project player...

"Project Player"

The two words that strike fear into any Dees supporter!!

yes and no. imo CAC has been a good recruiter over the years. many disagree with me. but their griviences are the failure of high draft pick KPP's, who failed to play a game, or made minimal impact. CAC has a very god record with the smokey project players, the late draft picks, and the rookies. he seems to have done well with three underage players, bate, dunn, and newton, in the single draft. its these sort of picks that melbourne seem to have come through on isnt it?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
