dont try justify urself..... u have cornered urself

u said it clear and simple... hes too old.... and thats ur problem. u cant see a players worth once he has reached a certain age bracket

the harvey compared to bizzel is irrelevant to ur argument .......of 30 is too old how on earth would a 35 year old make ur best 22

my argument does not concern bizzel but rather ur generalised comments and thoughts towards older players...

Why don't you quote my entire post, instead of neatly editing out what you like?

I wrote that he's a fringe player, and the fact that he's 30 puts him high up on the list of 'gonners'. Go back and quote the entire reply next time!

CB, don't kid yourself, Bizzell isn't in most people's best 22, including our current coaching staff, who, may I remind you, did not play him until it was the absolutely last resort this season, and dropped him last week.

With a fit Rivers, Bartram, Petterd etc ... he just does not fit into our best backline.

In fact, he's lucky to have held a gun to our head 3 seasons ago, to get a long contract, or he wouldn't be on our list this year to begin with.

Look, he isn't the worst player on our list, not even close. He has skills, but his role is very limited.

If we're going to be honest with ourselves, we need to cut down the list and start building a team around the younger players who will help us win a flag in the future (one would hope). Bizzell just doesn't fit into that plan, and nor do a lot of other players.

They also dropped PJ last week and used Holland in the ruck.

Does that mean they think Holland is a better ruckman?

Don't you mean : "Does that mean they think????? No strong evidence from the coaching group all 2007!

One of Bruce or Green need to go at the end of the year. I'm hoping it will be the former, he has greater currency and i suspect is on more $$$.

With respect, that suggestion is rubbish..we barely have any players with class who are capable of winning or turning a game as it is..too much mediocrity in our list to consider trading anyone with class..shows what a good job Danners did with the list he had available..not one superstar in the past decade !

PJ and Carroll have cemented their place on the list, Bizzell is hanging on by a thin thread and they dropped him... much like CJ.

On the Demons Bandwagon, it doesn't surprise me that you don't understand what I'm saying.

We have a big chunk of experienced players who make up a core of our best 22 (Neita, White, Robbo, McDonland, Bruce, Green, TJ etc...). What we don't need, is to carry around fringe players on the list with no scope for improvement. We've been doing it for too long, and it hasn't helped us.

How can you differentiate between dropping PJ and Carroll despite being "cemented" in the team and dropping Bizzell who is "hanging on by a thread"?

Despite the fact that "most people" agree that Bizzell has been one of Melbourne's best defender's this year.

Despite the fact that "most people" agree that Bizzell has been one of Melbourne's best defender's this year.

I can think of a couple of reasons -

Carroll regularly takes a key position (FB), while Bizz more often takes the third tall.

Carroll is far younger than Bizz, mid-20's versus wrong side of 30.

Carroll has played senior footy regularly in recent times, whereas Bizz hasn't.

His age has in no way affected how he plays. His only realy injury concerns have been bone fractures (i.e. his leg and cheek / jaw).

I'm not suggesting that Melbourne give him another three years, however he does deserve at least one more.

Next year is the future.

Warnock is still young, but has shown very little. Same with CJ. They might be late bloomers, but nothing has suggested (from what I've seen) that this will happen.

You cannot deny that Bizzell has been very good this year and did not deserve to be dropped last week because of form. You've got to remember too that he missed a year of AFL football and pretty much just stepped back in as if nothing had changed.

Everytime im on here I see people saying trade Green and Bruce. ARE YOU ALL INSANE!!

They are the only talent we have the only reason they should get traded is that they deserve a good supporting cast!!

I guarantee if we trade them, especially Bruce, he will win a brownlow and we will look like IDIOTS!

Trading will and should only be done if you can get someone who is guaranteed to fill a particular void or improve the list in any way.

Unfortunately you can only get something if you give something, and Bruce, for better or worse, is probably our highest priced commodity.

That being said he should not be touched unless we are guaranteed to get ourselves something a hell of a lot better, or more needed.

Because otherwise what is the point  !!!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
