POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Richmond

I am so glad I wasn't able to get to the game, I'd have wet myself laughing at the banner.

Fingers crossed for Culley, hope it's not as bad as it looked.

Amateur hour Tiger Army 🤣

They paint their images. As in, paint and paintbrushes, like cavemen. I don’t think it’s because their club’s too tight to fork out for printing, I think it’s just that they luvs them a big ol’ painting session. When they come to ours to make it it’s like they’ve stepped out of a Time Machine 100 years in the future 😅

Thanks Ghosty but on another related topic about the financial aspect of the game.

The Dees and the Tigers takes turns hosting the game

How do they work out the $$$$ share?

I think it’s 50/ 50.

Gotta say I'm old school and prefer hand drawn images on a run through. Anyone can print off a picture and sticky tape it to a crepe backing. That said, the one tonight looked like a five year old's school project. The NZ flag was back to front. Why did they put the Williamstown Timeball Tower on the side the players ran through?

@adonski 4/10 is fair. Jeffo goal in qtr 1 was a soft free. One good passage where he marked and goaled in 3rd qtr. Dropped 4/5 marks where he got his hands too. One tackle. Missed 3-4 tackles. No 2nd efforts still. Shot for goal in last qtr from 25metres out was horrible. Barely scored a point. Intensity at this level is not there. I want him to make it. We need marking forwards. He was a first round pick as part of Jackson trade. Have to say it. Looks like Sam Weideman mark 2.

Get ur friggen sun shades of, second and third efforts evident, created ground ball gets from contests, shheeiit get ur head outa ur aaarrrrze and watch the replay!

They get the gate receipts when it’s their home game, we get them when it’s ours.

I’m just going to come out and say it. All the talk about Turner, Chandler or Lever to be the next captain of the club, but Sparrow is a real smoky for the captaincy.

A seriously underrated and uncompromising season he is putting together in the midfield. He’s apart of the reason why we are so good on the turnover in 2026. His contest work, tackling and pressure is a far cry to the player over the last 2 seasons.

Gotta feel for Viney. Honestly don’t know how he gets back in apart from injuries.

Viney is DONE, slow before injury and now?? Really will struggle with Kings strategies! Happy for him to go to Norf for a packet of chips

Could be (or still could be) that the MCC write out a cheque to the home team depending on the size of the crowd. Gate receipts related

At the lower end of the scale a minimum of $100k for a 23k or less crowd was often mentioned (but that was years ago)

$1Million for 60k? ... again, we're going back a few years

@Dr. Gonzo might know a bit more about what the scale is/was

Footnote; So when faced with the prospect of a low drawing crowd at the MCG against GWS or suchlike, we've previously taken the NT money instead

FritA very good win in the end, but unfortunately the bad parts of our game stand out so much more than our good parts.

Kozzie, Sparrow, Windsor, Steele and Howes. Wonderful.

Sharp, Langdon, Lever. Good games

Ball handling, decision making, contested pressure. Disgraceful.

Did I mention Kozzie - goal of the year contender and mark of the year contender in the same game.

Laurie & Taylor had poor games. Latrelle and Fritsch had poor games.

So sad for Culley.

5W - 2L. Feels OK.

What a strange post, bad parts stand out more then our good parts, wow watch out AFL, you're way off the mark, and Fritsch 15 despots 2 goals 7 score involments, yes he had 1 stupid moment, but who's perfect? The bicy and the whipping of Bailey is unbelievable by you and you're cohorts

You have no class mate! The bloke is out injured and you want to write him off before he has played a game this season. Viney deserves a crack at it and Steele is s perfect example about how an inside mid works in our system.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
