Interesting to hear king say they let kozzie go to Darwin for his daughters birthday off a 5 day break & then came back & trained.

Gee if he comes back & plays like that, let him go whenever he wants

Talk of Kozzi in trouble for a high hit. any info??

King was asked in the presser about it. I missed it. Will he be ok?

Crazy to think he can pull that performance with a trip to Darwin on a 5 day break. He's got the licence to go whenever he feels necessary but gee wizz it can't be sustainable

I’m just going to come out and say it. All the talk about Turner, Chandler or Lever to be the next captain of the club, but Sparrow is a real smoky for the captaincy.

A seriously underrated and uncompromising season he is putting together in the midfield. He’s apart of the reason why we are so good on the turnover in 2026. His contest work, tackling and pressure is a far cry to the player over the last 2 seasons.

Gotta feel for Viney. Honestly don’t know how he gets back in apart from injuries.

My god he frustrates me at times

A very good win in the end, but unfortunately the bad parts of our game stand out so much more than our good parts.

Kozzie, Sparrow, Windsor, Steele and Howes. Wonderful.

Sharp, Langdon, Lever. Good games

Ball handling, decision making, contested pressure. Disgraceful.

Did I mention Kozzie - goal of the year contender and mark of the year contender in the same game.

Laurie & Taylor had poor games. Latrelle and Fritsch had poor games.

So sad for Culley.

5W - 2L. Feels OK.

Maybe watch the replay, Laurie and fritch were far from poor games. I’ve never seen Bailey tackle like that, definitely enjoying his footy.

Yes, Kozzy and Sparrow were superb, Windsor great, but what I'm really loving about this team is the even spread of contributions, and it's the lesser known names who are having a huge influence on the outcome of games.

Think Chin last week, Sparrow and Windsor this week.

We're also seeing signs from maligned players like Jeffo and Laurie that there could be a future.

It's very exciting stuff.

This football team is not the pre 2026 team anymore. The contributions are team-wide and different players are bobbing up every week. Huge credit must go to Kingy's coaching and the rest of the assistants.

Going down the race just before they got into the rooms, Taylor was turning around and Max kept moving him forward. What was going on there? Maybe he just thought he was going to wander off.

Im not really sure what happened there, but just earlier, they ( Windsor and couple of others) were all looking around and burst out laughing at Taylor who was coming back up the race. It looked like he had left the field after the game earlier than the others and was making his way back onto the field. Maybe an early toilet stop ? Anyway, Max wouldn’t let him get behind him when they all left the field, even though he tried 😄

I just want to make one thing perfectly clear…

We were NOT responsible for that banner.

When Anzac eve is Richmond’s home game the joint banner is made at Punt Rd. It’s their design and we just help them make it.

The reverse happens when it’s our home game.

The old saying, you’re only as strong as your weakest link is so true.

Totally embarrassing. Seems it wasn’t lost on anyone. This is a couple of examples of many tweets about it…

He’s top 3

Before the season both he and Gawn were our brownlow 'leaders' at 150-1!!

One of the more mispriced markets seen for sometime. They are both probably in the top dozen. Kozzie was always going to win 5 to 6 games off his own boot playing midfield and he's already done it twice at least. Also, I cant remember the last time he was tackled.

My 15 year old said he noticed it and had to try his hardest not to laugh, he was worried I’d yell at him for being disrespectful. If he’d pointed it out I would have lost it too. 😂

It was such a special occasion to get to the game tonight, and the one game I try to make it too every year as an Army veteran.

My daughter turned 6 weeks old today, so it was terrific getting another win.

On the game itself, watching it live I thought Windsor and Kozzie were just in everything. Fritsch had some good moments but made a lot of mistakes as well. Sparrow just keeps hunting the ball and is tackling machine. But Howes game was just unreal, some of the work he did off the ball to help out team mates was outstanding. He's becoming an important player in our backline now and I can't see him getting dropped when Bowey, Rivers and Salo return.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
