NON-MFC: Round 5

Every time Freo look like they’re about to be serious contenders they’ll drop a game like this. Pies are probably a 7-10 side I reckon and Freo should beat them by 4 goals but we’ll see.

Don't forget the AFL umpire equaliser affect

Sorry if this is known. Is Daicos playing tonight, just think if he is anything off his best, then the filth are absolutely stupid,

Blues lose ✔️

Pies lose - probable ✔️

Bombers lose - Should be ✔️

Hawks lose - hopefully ✔️

Wonder when Voss is sacked

Won't do them any good. They lack the talent to play today's new AFL standard. Caretaker coach won't help either. Too much is set in stone in footy clubs these days

And the Blues are doing what we used to do ... Bomb it in long, time after time. Dumb football. Turnover- City

A new coach needs a year to turn it around (or at least the whole off season)

Our sport has become like the NFL in that regard (not like soccer) And the NFL teams generally wait until seasons end to sack their coaches. Black Monday they call it

unless your steven king in which case it takes a preseason and 3 games

dreadful set shot from Patrick Voss

he's kicked 4.12 this year thus far

not advisable for him to be so lippy with that record

I thought it was marginally better than Day Cares out of bounds kick on the wing

Fully agree, however I think they’re dumb enough to fire him thinking something might change.

If they don’t think something will change, probably likely to fire him to look like they’re doing things.

If they are dumb enough to think that a caretaker coach could work then yeah, they'll sack Voss early

Caretaker coach - 2 or 3 wins. New game plan? Good luck!

End of season (or near the end) is a far better scenario (for Carlton)

And the caretaker coach might mirror Voss anyway. After all, their whole FD would be geared towards playing a certain way

Anyone else watch Patrick Voss on 7 right now?

Interview confirms what was already believed; dumb as dog 💩

Which Voss are we sacking?

Is it just me or can anyone else see a HUGE Freo choke!

They are some of the biggest chokers around.

Even with this weather, they should be 10 goals ahead.

Has any player ever hated contact more than Nick Daicos? Cale Morton, maybe?

Scared

The list is not a top 4 list. But it is not a bottom 4 list either. The coach is most definitely underperforming and hasn't been able to steady the ship for the last 18 months. As much as I like Voss the legendary player and a genuinely good bloke he has always been a one dimensional coach who is only good at getting his team playing contested stoppage football. Was the wrong choice as coach, mistake made. It is what it is. Time for change and a reset.

It’s pretty close to a bottom four list in my opinion.

If Freo drop this game I for one, will not forgive them !

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
