I've acquired a small step-child who has already been indoctrinated as a Magpie, now it is your turn to give me your thoughts.

You seem to have poor taste in women.

Let’s not criticize those that couldn’t get there, for whatever reason.

I don’t see Oscar in the picture either and we wouldn’t criticize Tom’s brother.

Agreed, Red. We don’t know why certain past players weren’t there.

Omac was there yesterday, just not in the photo. He would have to answer to his nephew Lmac had he not attended. Leo adores his uncle Oscar. 🥰

This is good stuff😂👏

Can't wait to see Mick work Andy into a frenzy on The Front Bar - how sweet it is

Yeah, Voss is copping the heat but Cripps their onfield big gun leader went missing bigtime.

He is slow and throws the ball constantly - my favorite moment of this entire match was Kozzy plucking the ball in the air in front of the plodder and turning to kick a magnificent goal and sinking the dagger into that rabble of a club

The Drip is Fresh Ma G

Have we talked about how flippin cool our boys looked when they arrived at the ground????

The last half of footy from Kozzy was one of the best I have seen over many years from not only MFC players but anyone

He lifted the entire team onto his shoulders, and they collectively rode his wave of shear brilliance and hardness - what a gem he is

Is this a Steven King "be yourself" thing or have they always done this?

Apparently it was Max’s idea, he wanted them to rock up in whatever made them feel good. It’s very NBAesque but they look awesome

Dig ourselves into a hole, dig ourselves out of it. There was one moment that summed it up for me yesterday - Latrelle injured himself in a pack and with a look of panic, limped off with his hand up, signalling to the bench. He didn't go off - not sure if the bench waved him back, but he ran it off and was (relatively) fine for the rest of the game. Not sure why that heartens me enormously for the whole team, but it does.

Has there ever been another player who has sild over the hill and down into mediocrity quicker than that chucker?

About 30 seconds into the 4th there was a throw-in in front of me. The blues ruckman had his hands on his shorts like he was out of petrol. They'd just had 3/4 time. You know what happened next...

Classy of Andy Maher for the well done max but next minute some next level sooking about listening to the dees song

Geez that was good to listen to

What happened to Crippa the front runner after half time?

I hope Kolt got into him.

Kolt went to half back when CJ went down. Played a pretty good game back there

He was there, as were a few of our past players, including Clarrie

Did you see Clarry @Ghostwriter ? Someone else made a comment that he wasn’t there - because he had partied all night. Hopefully you are correct.

I heard maybe Simmo on SEN say Voss would never have allowed that happen when he was captain.

And I agree, this is more for me on the players, how many really gut ran in that last? Not many and not their leaders.

I didn’t see him but a few people told me they saw him while out on banner raising. I forwent banner raising just for this match for several reasons but had I been out there I could confirm.

Edit: I just double checked and yes Clarrie was there. Clearly kept a low profile. I don’t know where these rumours came from (that he missed it because of partying all night) but that’s all they are… rumours

What an unbelievable turn-around! I wasn't able to make the game due to a family commitment, but I was checking the scores up until half time where it looked like we were toast. I had a feeling we would come back but ultimately fall short which had been a pattern under Goodwin (Melb v Blues Rd 9, 2024 is a good example). I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked the scores at 6pm to see us win that (and win it comfortably).

I watched the replay on Fox last night and Huddo calling a Melbourne comeback against Carlton just like in the 2000 QF brought a bit of nostalgia to the game. His call was excellent by the way, much better than BT's I'm sure.

A few things I noticed:

JVR rucked in the second half which surprised me (given Max's pledge to not use him as a back-up ruck). I assume this was because CJ went down and Petty needed to stay back?

I thought Lever and McDonald were terrific. They had great communication between the two of them. Tmac will definitely hold his spot. I actually think Petty might be in danger of losing his spot once Disco comes back. Some of Petty's turn-overs and poor decisions are really costing us. He's had two poor games in a row now. The only issue with that is we don't have a back-up ruck unless they want to use JVR again.

I'm glad King swiftly moved Koltyn off Cripps. That just wasn't working. Steele did a much better job.

I still want to see Langford more in the middle. He's a good user of the ball and I think he can be a high impact player. The only thing not on his side seems to be his fitness. It just always looks like he's labouring whenever he runs.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
