I hope that's us later today...but it's a big ask particularly off a soft 1 1/2 preseason games.

...lets nail the Saints anyway.

Interestingly I watched Richmond closely on Thursday night.

They were running all over Carlton in the last quarter where as the Blues look gassed.

Only issue is they (Tom Lynch) couldn't score a goal to save themselves.

You say that but we wouldn't have had jack Steele if not for trading Oliver

I love the fact we have Steele.

My comment was in reply to someone mentioning that we were at a loss, and u replied saying only financially.

Steele is a huge pick up and I’d prefer him over the current Oliver any day.

It probably says more about Carlton 'dazzle'...

Maybe, but if anything, it just shows if you're good enough then you simply win.

Dropped into watch the Dragons v Storm match yesterday and perhaps a Star has been born.

Electric does not describe his sidestepping movements:

Sua Fa'alogo

But this is a dawn that has been beckoning ever since Fa'alogo's NRL debut back in 2023, when he moved like he was firewalking, scoring a double that made him seem a star of tomorrow.

That tomorrow has now arrived, and when you combine the weight of history and the possibilities of the future, it gives Fa'alogo the look of a chosen one, and that's what Melbourne — not just the Storm, but Melbourne itself — has been waiting for.

Fa'alogo is a Victorian junior, a Broadmeadows and Northern Thunder man to be precise, and while he isn't the first local boy to play for the Storm, he has a chance to be their first homegrown star, which always shines brightest on the horizon.

Why Melbourne has been waiting a generation for someone l...

Sua Fa'alogo has been waiting for some time to become part of Melbourne's storied lineage of fullbacks, but nowhere near as long as Melbourne has been waiting for a player like him.

Not injured, just a fringe player.

Nice to see him doing well but the recognition he’s getting in this thread is a bit over the top. This is his 5th year on their list and he’s yet to establish a spot. I’ll be surprised if he’s not in and out of their side this year too.

Thanks. His game time was 55% hence I was wondering.

It’s not a loss for him. They got him for peanuts.

He’s not elite anymore but he plays well enough compared to having in a first year mid.

He also provides depth in a time where GWS has heaps of injuries.

We are the losers there, as we are paying financially.

It was worth our contribution to get clarry out of the club. Just business and a good deal.

Watch the upside we get today with our new look younger kids who can kick. Alongside goat ruckman of course

Haven't seen the Gold Coast game but will be curious to see the Harley Reid contribution. Not sure he'll ever be what West Coast thought he would.

Jarrod Witts' around-the-ground contribution is not even half that of Gawn's, and I don't think he is a true rival for the AA Ruck spot, but at half time Witts is on target for >100 total hitouts after the first two rounds. I mean, rucking against Blicavs last week and Flynn this week isn't exactly top shelf, but... still...

With just six goals in the second quarter, looks like Gold Coast have eased off a bit and '186' will not be threatened today, but on the other hand there's travel, there's a young team potentially dropping their heads, and there's the alleged round zero conditioning advantage.

Not as if Hardwick is likely to go soft - certainly not when he is trying to turn a brilliant but mentally soft team into ruthless killers.

Looks like another "sell-out" on the Goldie. Couldn't be more than 5k inside the ground.

If he stays at west coast, he probably won’t, because he’ll be at west coast. I don’t see how’s he’s going to fulfil his potential when he has nobody around him. Yeo hardly plays and Reid was effectively their best player from game 1. If he’s able to fully become the player he could be in the environment he’s in, then that’s remarkable to me.

What’s even his trade value? No one is coughing up 3 or even 2 first rounders for him at this rate. Geez he was supposed to be the second coming
