Spoiler warning: Santa’s NOT real

Saturday 13th December

8:30am - 11:30am

Gosch’s Paddock

This isn’t a training session. The players will be there for autographs and photos.

Once the players have left, folks can go on the oval and play kick-to-kick 🏉

There’ll be partner giveaways and other freebies.

Food and coffee vans will be there but you won’t need them because the…

DEMON ARMY SAUSAGE SIZZLE

… is where it’s at! Delicious snags in bread with or without onion and a can of soft drink… the breakfast of champions!(apologies to Mr. Vonnegut).

And it wouldn’t be a Christmas do without the portly guy in a Santa suit, now would it. You and yours can get photos taken with him.

See y’all there!

So that's why I never get the Porsche I order every year. Dawm!

I'm coming down with a friend and his 3 y.o! Looking forward to it, even if there is a little rain 🙂

And an understanding of irony for yourself .

If you don't find that remotely amusing you should ask Santa for one for you.

Saw it on a bumper sticker the other day and had a good guffaw. I mean come on...... how often to you see a picture of Jesus giving people the finger? I wasn't giving it to you just posting something similar to what I saw.

I really think you could use a good chuckle and Im genuinely not having a crack at you. People do get stressed this time of year.

It wasn't posted in hostility and neither is this.

Merry Festivus.

Umm, I don't subscribe any religions , (I guess footy counts ) especially paganism or Tom Cruise, but I have no understanding what your post means. In the immortal words our orange equivalent to Trump, " please explain".

I'm surprised most ordinsry el cheapo snags are gluten free. It's generally the bread thats a problem

I can assure you that unless it says gluten-free on the snag pack, there will be gluten in, not only the snags, but the bread AND the sauce!

You @thirty-one can safely tuck into a sumptuous serviette full of onions!

And so say all of us. All the best to you and yours.

of course, i'm coeliac so well versed

my point was that it is very easy to buy basic snags that are gluten free, at no extra cost

i'll buy (gluten free) snags and onions at a sizzle if served on a serviette (no bread)

I trust y’all are currently on your way to Gosch’s right now, or will be leaving home shortly. Right?

There’s a fun time to be had for kidlets and adults alike!

Come and meet the new players. They’re all great guys. Not a d’head to be seen. Although, if d’heads are your thang, I believe Collingwood is training over the other side of AAMI 🤭

❤️💙 SEEYA THERE! ❤️💙

I went got there at 7:45 and left at 10:00 once Robbo said the players were leaving I thought it was time to go. I didn't notice any of the girls traning it must have been the Casey girls. Got all the autographs except for the absentees in Langdon, Fritsch, T.Mac, Bowey and Sparrow and the coaches Riv, Chaplin and Jonesy. Even got Robbo's autograph he's still a legend in my eyes.

Selwyn didn't think he was worthy of giving an autograph but I said you keep the boys going your a star so he gave me an autograph near the Demon Army tent. I also got Kingy's autograph near the tent. He said I'm not sure where we will finish but we will be playing some exciting football. Also got Kentfield autograph near the tent, wasn't sure if I got his autograph on the ground so I may have Kentfield's autograph twice on my jumper. Saw him get a hug by I think it was Ghost writer. I was too scared to ask who she was because I'm afraid my idols will let me down some how. So remember this Ghosty when I go to a captains run on Saturday I want your autograph on my jumper because we all know you are the greatest training reporter on Demonland.

Great to see most of the squad injury free. The ones in rehab Viney, Matthews, Moniz and McAdam should be in full training after Christmas. Didn't ask Hendo how his rehab is going as I forgot. Melksham said his hamstring was only minor and no problems there. Said to Trelly "Little Kosi" he said he wanted to be known as "Big Kosi" as I expect he is taller.

Brought a Melbourne cap and scarf plus brought myself a coffee and a sauage sanga with onions it was a good day.

Hoping everyone who attended had a great time and the kids had fun with their idols.

I really hope the club realises how important these type of days are for supporters especially the kids. It makes you fall in love with the club all over again and remember why you love supporting them even during hard times.

Can’t wait to see you all at G against the Saints.

Gluten free stuff falls apart. I have a friend that's coeliac and it sucks you can't eat hardly anything.

Great turnout today. The club is delighted with how many people showed up, especially since rain and even possible thunderstorms were predicted. So many kids decked out in their regalia… a wonderful sight.

We sold out of almost everything. That means more giant heads on the horizon 🥳

A huge thank you to the Demonlanders who attended and supported the DA by buying our wares.

I was relieved of my duties as till-b!ttch for a spell in order to find Steeley to give him a cupcake for his birthday (today he turned 30). I hadda battle through the multitude of weekenders to get to him but it was worth it, he was so grateful.

Luker came to see me but only because we have this “tradition” at sausage sizzles where I smuggle a cupcake out to him. Hence, he came to see the cupcake, not me 😁

But the best thing about today on a personal level is that Shane brought his partner Taylor over to meet me and… he let me hold their 12-week-old baby girl, Mia 🥹

All in all It was a great success.

yeah, a lot of stuff was(is) very cakey and crumbling

but, things have improved in the last few years. you can now buy gf bread that tastes just like normal bread

you do tend to pay a big tax but for gf food. snags being an exception

Great to see it as such a success. Will they be having more events on Saturdays? Even training I think you will get more to training on a Saturday than a Friday. You would get me to more training sessions on a saturday, I'm free Saturdays. Fridays I have other stuff to do.

The only opportunity to watch them train on a Saturday is when we have a Sunday game meaning the captain’s run is on the Saturday. On Saturdays they do hill-running and gym.

BTW, you should’ve made yourself known in our tent today. I would’ve asked you to make a best 23 sausages side 😝

PS they indeed were the VFLW players training on Gosch’s very early this morning.

Thanks for that I'll try and make it for the captain's run. You need some gluten free sauages to get in the 23.

I thought the highlight of the day was selling me a snag! Good to see ya Ghosty

Question without notice but first, my apologies for not making it there.

It was reported that CJ left training early yesterday and appeared to have suffered an injury - possibly the one that was ailing him when he first crossed from Hawthorn. Was he there today and how was he?

He was there today but there was no training so hard to tell what his injury was and I forgot to ask him.

Was there today and in good spirits. If he is injured, I don’t think it’s anything serious.

Jack Viney did say to me that his body wasn’t feeling great and he hoped to be back to full training after the Christmas break. He was pretty honest when I asked him how he was tracking.

I was there today with my 2 little ones, had a great time getting autographs etc, the snags were fantastic...

Watch this space. Come 2027 we could find ourselves without any of The Three Musketeers left.
