Neu! the eponymous debut album. Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger post an early Kraftwerk split. Still a great listen half a century after release. Quality earphones recommended or the inner sanctum of your listening room.

Finally ‘Faust so Far’ . When albums were more than just music. Each track has some accompanying individual artwork inside a black sleeve. I found it rather mysterious and it’s decidedly not for the mainstream listener.

    Otis Redding and Steve Cropper share co-writer credits. Steve Cropper was producer. Released by Stax Records on the Volt label it became the first posthumous #1 hit single in the USA in January 1968. Otis Redding recorded it twice, the second time just three days before his death in an air crash December 10 1967.

    One of the albums of the year, 1914 are super intense live, seen them a few times. Band who is from Ukraine and sing about WW1.

    couldn't believe Otis was only 26 when he died. Looked and sounded much older.

    Probably my favourite vocalist ever. Visited his 'dock of the bay' in San Fran a few years ago.

    Just shows you can be sad and lonely anywhere as its a beautiful place

    Actually he's not that big, nor fast etc compared to some of the others.

    Speaking of amazing drumming, watch this.
    I was at this festival and it was amazing live, this drummer is elite!

    If you dont want to watch the lot, from the 5:50 min mark id recommend and watch the snare hitting and remember this is th last song in the set...

    I predominantly listen to recently released music - music by recent/new bands, or new music from bands that have been around for a while.

    One of my go to sources for new music, particularly from new artists, or artists I don't know, is the line-up at Golden Plains each year.

    It's announced in aprox mid November, and I do a deep dive on all acts for aprox 5 months (GP is in March, on the Labor day weekend).

    Those i really dig stay on my listening rota post GP.

    I've been to all but one Golden Plains and IMHO next year's line-up is one of, if not the best, ever.

    If interested in hearing some new music, the line-up includes some terrific newish international and local acts.

    This sequnced playlist has a track from each of the 28 acts playing at GP 2026*.

    Each track, bar 2 or 3, was released in the last year or so.

    (* as a card carrying pedant, I'll note that i couldn't find a track by two of the DJs playing, Ok Williams and Pacquito Gordon, so i selected a deep track for each from a set list from one of their gigs).

Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16.       The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
