An interesting choice for road crews back in the day to test their sound systems in pubs was a selection from Joe's Garage (Frank Zappa)...I'm pretty sure it was more about the lyric content rather than the sonic nuances though.

Music is very subjective and that's the best thing about it, my playlist can go from Nine Inch Nails to Reinhardt to Glenn Miller to 13th Floor Elevators in a blink.

And Joe's Garage is definitely something on a good sound system, anything Zappa really.

I think you truly classify as having a broad taste there 'layzie'.

Mine depends what day it is and how I feel, is fairly broad but probably not up with current stuff as much.

Current & newer artists definitely but not in any popular genre.

Yeah there's plenty of great new music out there, the landscape has just changed so much.

Full LPs don't mean what they used to. Makes you wonder how a Led Zeppelin would fare today. However it is a good feeling when you discover a good new artist.

I'm still old school with LP's. To me they mark an artists journey, which is something I love.

It was so exciting when a new album came out, from great artists it was a full work and they were painstaking in deciding the track order.

You would play it in order because it was conceived that way, and anyway with vinyl you couldn't just flick a switch to another track. You had to lift the needle and in some cases turn it over.

my favourite album of the year is definitely rosalia's "lux"

she's otherworldly; like a catalan bjork

her previous album was really poppy and super 'bouncy' for want of a better term; it was my aoty of the year for 2022

this new one saw her work with the lso for a year in order to craft a symphonic set honouring female saints

it's...amazing

My pleasures are now more visual than auditory my hearing is not what it was. But live and recorded music was my passion. Different musics at different times although nostalgia leads me back to some old favourites on odd occasions when the urge takes me.
