Disgrace!

Laterelle Pickett will get a game before Jeffi next year

People losing their mind over Pickett going a few picks before he was projected to in Cal's Phantom - to go to Roos. His stocks had obviously risen. Roos pick Dovaston instead. Could be a bit of Kozzy/Cody Weightman about it. I know who i'd rather have.

We have lost 400 games of midfield exp inc 2 premiership players yet we don’t pick any mids with 7&8 … nothing against the boys they picked but have I missed something here?i

yes, those two midfielders led us to 14th two years in a row

they weren't part of the solution moving forward

steele brings experience to accompany viney, while the likes of pickett, rivers, windsor, tholstrup, langford, lindsay, etc. are the future

No.... you haven't, but I'm sure Rivers, Sparrow and an ageing Viney will do the job!☠️

Yeah Dovaston!

Was that Mick Stinear on screen a few minutes ago?

Hope we don’t regret passing on Dyson Sharp, has so many qualities, oozes leadership and was there for the taking.

I also hope Latrelle wasn’t picked partially to keep Kozzie. Fingers crossed he lights up the G, only time will tell.

Trade GC F1 and our next to get Nairn

Of course he was, speculative at best.. Garbage move and would have taken Sharp in a heartbeat! Rubbish move!

So many people having site issues tonight, yet picket fence is unaffected. What a dystopia this world has turned into.

Schubert, Phillipou, Nairn... still some players left maybe still at our next anyway

Absolutely stoked with Xavier Taylor. Same feeling I had with Lindsay last year. I think he's got the lot, hybrid defender to take us into the future.

Pickett at 12 is exciting but definitely a reach. Yes, Kozzie was a reach too so that is comforting. If there's a year to reach at 12 its this one though.

Nairn still on the board, picks being gobbled up in bid matching, which brings our 37 forward.

Shame Lindsay was grabbed before our next

can't wait to watch kozi and kuzzy for years to come

That is the best suggestion I have heard for a newbie’s nickname yet!

Latrell has the natural ability in front of goals that you rarely see in a player. Creates a goal from nothing. He is the perfect small forward and something we are desperate for. Allows Kozzie to play more midfield.

Stoked with Taylor. Personally can see him as a midfielder. Allows the likes of Windsor, Rivers, Lindsay etc to play more mid.

The media get so much wrong.

Is there some curious chemistry between Cal and Nat? Bit of bantar, almost awkward hostility between them...anyone else notice this? Do they not like each other?? Cal is a bit of a strange duck...the more important issues of draft night!

what has 37 come into with all these bids?

I think its 29...is that right? Lots of using picks for bids I think...could be wrong though I have no idea what's happening but I am excited!

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
