I legitimately do not care about a cats v pies Granny. Season finishes for me tomorrow night if it’s that game.

Stick around until Thursday. It’ll be an epic week of sad calls to talkback from Collingwood and Geelong members who can’t get tickets to the grand final.

That’ll lift anyone’s spirits.

At first I thought don’t be ridiculous! But nothing surprises anymore in all things AFL

Andrew Dillon will sign off on it

This hasn’t been the best prelim I don’t think.

Hawks just not ready yet. Need a few more years I think.

Slick in H&A but they don’t have the arsenal to counter finals pressure and contest orientated game style.

Because the Brownlow is an accurate representation of the best players?

Bont says no

If Bailey Smith does win it, it will accelerate the rate of the Brownlow’s slide down the respect ladder at the speed of light.

Also hate the camera work - who wants to see the face of the kicker. What the hell is going on down field ?

Vociferous dissent is now OK? Bailey Sniff abuses umpire with impunity.

Who wants to watch football when you can watch a man's slightly urgent expression for three seconds before moving on to another one?

"I'm ready for my close up now, Mr Spielberg."

Hadn't heard Bailey Sniff before and do appreciate it.

And BDA, no, no no no no, us not getting Jack Martin is the defining failure of our list management strategy since 2022, don'tcha know it?

Disgusted as I am to say it, Daicos deserves it far more. He can actually hit a target by foot. Also has abused 0 journalists this year.

It’s the small wins isn’t it?

Smashed in the ruck but Cats dominating clearances. Cats rucking a big ruck rover.

So does Ablett Snr, Carey, Buddy, Clarry, and all the other amazing players who missed out

Who's idea was it to have the umpires choose the best player? no sport in the world does that. They are busy you know, umpiring the hardest game in the world to umpire

Tell me you’re watching weightlifting right now (?)

How is Gunston only 33? I swear he’s been playing since Jesus was an apprentice carpenter

So I guess we're on the lions now?

What do you mean by now? Because I have been on them since last weekend, every other result is crud.

And look now! All those Hawthorn members sitting in the rain watching their team get spanked.

Footy is the gift that keeps on giving.

Danger!

Commentators are funny

Last few weeks Jai Newcombe has been one of the best midfielders in the league, what a gun.

3 clearances and a average game but no-one mentions it. His kicking is worse than Petracca but no-one mentions it

Anyway..... carry on

I never really thought of it before, but I wonder if his last thoughts were "Well, that's just shoddy workmanship."

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
