With Casey's season now officially over, it seems that we can sit back and wait for the delistings to be announced.

Who do you think will be off the Demons list when the dust settles?

Didnt someone on here mentioned that Kynan Brown has already been notified that he will be delisted?

That's a rumour. I'm looking for something more official.

Well, like alot of key list management decisions, you may not get anything official until the new coach comes in.

Or its already been finalised and just waiting for an announcement anytime this week.

No - he’s a terrible kick

Sorry Whatwhat you got that backwards we love decent players who are terrible kicks.

He'll stay on.

Already rumours of Hore retiring.

I suspect we won't wait on a coach for Fullarton and Billings. But we might wait for the B+F.

Which leaves Woey, Brown, Sestan, Henderson, Verrall. Plus Spargo, Judd OOC.

I've heard rumours of a Henderson extension, I suspect we keep him if Spargo goes.

Brown and Sestan would be the 2 that I'd wait and see with a new coach.

Primary delists: Spargo, Billings, Fullarton, Woewodin

Rookie delists: Hore, Verrall, Sestan, Brown, Henderson

Four Primary delists and we already have connections with White, Sinnema, Derksen, Heath and Windhager - we'll need to trade a couple of players and/or delist and re-rookie some contracted players (e.g. Laurie, McAdam). We might get away with B Rookieing Sinnema if he gets through the draft.

We need to lose 2 Rookies just to get back to par, so those 5 off would give us 3 Rookie slots. We should probably re-rookie Spargo if no-one picks him up, it's the right thing to do for a player who gets a serious injury in the line of duty.

That would be insane if true. A 25 year old permanent small forward who kicked 2 goals in 9 VFL games this year after being dropped from the senior side. He is actually older than Spargo. Surely we can do much, much better.

From reports it sounds like Spargo has a contract offer from us to retain him on the primary list but we're happy for him to explore his FA options.

He looked pretty decent at AFL level given how quickly he was thrown in to a bad side. Then his form kind of tailed off at Casey, possibly indicating he was battling injury.

He's a high half forward/mid, goal kicking isn't a huge part of the role.

He was identified as the best state league player and didn't really get a big chance to prove that one way or another. At this stage I'd imagine we'll have more list spots that we can fill with useful draft picks or trades, so we'd only be replacing him with another late rookie or mature ager.

If we are going to keep an older guy for depth I’d probably rather billing’s for 1 more than Henderson. Billing’s was pretty dominant for Casey at times and has played some okay footy at AFL level

There's merit in that thinking. Comes down to gameplan.

Same could probably be said about Laurie though

Agree here. The Henderson of last year VFL and 2025 preseason had zip and agility. That disappeared early in the season. I suspect his groin issues started alot earlier than was reported and he played through them way passed the point of value and impact.

Billings isn’t getting any quicker or less nervy in front of goal tho. 2 issues that make him not at all useful in any forward role. We’ve got enough midfield/wing options.

If we can actually get Henderson healthy and covering the ground for a big preseason he did show the right attributes for that high half forward role that’s very hard to fill. There’s a young guy at Geelong VFL- Tobyn Murray - getting buzz about his running but generally it’s so hard to find them.

I would also be curious about Riley bonner for a rookie spot potentially, especially if Marty hore retires. He’d provide solid cover and depth and definitely makes Casey better

A nice addition to Casey but Bonner hasn’t stood up in attack or defense for a few years now. I doubt that changed at Casey. That’s the right level for him.

He dropped off markedly in the last few Casey games IMO.

He was killing it in the first half of the season

What? Lol.

His last 4 games of the season was some of the best football he was playing and his disposal numbers will suggest that.

My two cents on possible list change, and direct structural correlation of the list:

Hore out for Derksen (key def depth)

Fullarton out for heath (ruck back up)

Brown out for windhager (def running mid)

Verrall out for white (project ruck)

Billings out for Sinnema (outside user)

Given moniz Wakefield and mcadam are back on the list, woey and Henderson drop off

Spargo to try his luck at north? If not, year by year extensions. (If so, son of Walsh as a rookie pick up?)

Sestan has shown some assets but needs a strong preseason to be considered for AFL opportunity.

Hoping McVee and the new coach have a simple discussion and he signs for 2-4 years.

All of the outs will net nothing in draft capital. And the ins likely cost us future picks (heath for future 3rd/4th swap?, derksen for future 4th?) as well as most of our hand this year (windhager-23, white 52, sinnema 59 🤞😈🤞)

All of this amounts to a little rejuvenation and cleanout of some clogged spots which hopefully results in a few surprises. Feels a little bland, but hoping the coaching staff overhaul brings the excitement.

If we are to improve next year, i think it’s on the back of Windsor Lindsay and Langford establishing and Trac and clarry doing Trac and clarry things again.

Thanks

Must say I didn't notice him

Even so I don't think he's the future

Primary delists: Spargo, Billings, Fullarton, Woewodin

Rookie delists: Hore, Verrall, Brown, Henderson

Hanging on by a (contractual) whisker: McAdam

I can’t believe that we have a contract offer to Spargo.

Bonner is an EXCELLENT VFL player but not up to AFL standards any more. Happy to see him work for the MFC and the development role.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
