Hypocritical Collingwood supporters calling out booing of Quaynor

Featured Replies

Quaynor definitely doesn't deserve to be booed.

However, Collingwood supporters have obviously forgotten the relentless booing that helped drive Adam Goodes from the game for pointing out a racist slur from a Collingwood supporter.

it really is something to out-feral Collingwood supporters.

booing the perpetrator is fine

booing the victim is not fine

crows fans embarrassed themselves

Crows fans really lowering themselves to pretty much Port Adelaide and Collingwood levels of grubbery...found it amusing to hear a Pies fan calling out the booing this morning on an SEN text, thought it was rich coming from a Pies fan. I'm sure not all Pies fans are grubs, but damn they have a lot of them they are usually the worst in the comp for bad behavior.

I watched the match but I can’t remember if the commentators mentioned the booing of Isaac. I mean, it was crystal clear, especially when you consider Adelaide supporters loves them a boo-fest. So you know the booing of Isaac was bad when it could be so easily discerned amongst the booing of, well, everything.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were told not to acknowledge it.

What was the deal with Maynard and Keays post game? did anyone see what happened there?

I watched the game for all of 5 minutes and heard BT bring up that it was inappropriate to boo Quaynor.

Very very poor form from the Crows fans. Pathetic actually. Not unexpected though. Some of the worst fans out there.

Re Collingwood. I think the thread title could’ve just stopped after the 3rd word.

Yeh, Maynard leveled either him or another player in a tackle. Spear tackle. Then stood over the player talking smack.

That'll do it! thanks mate.

Maynard took Nibs down in what looked like a dangerous spear-tackle. Ben Keays understandably took umbrage to this.

Was it Nibbler? I couldn’t tell who it was from that angle they had.

I didn’t think it was dirty until he stood over him. Not needed.

Pies fans the ugliest collective on the planet. It is never a good day when they win.

Hard to remember many moments when the Crows didn't hack and hope kick into 50. The only time I can remember was when Nibbler was on the wing and speared a nice one in to Thilthorpe or Pedlar?

Nibbler may not be the best kick in general but I always thought he was a decent kick into 50 player. He'd look for leads and hit them often with low trajectory 20-30m kicks.

An obvious but welcome statement. At least this we can all collectively agree on 100%

Only thing I am glad for is we get another prelim at the G I can go to and hopefully live in the flesh watch Collingwood get smashed. Kind of hoping its Brisbane just because they're the most likely to tear the filth apart.

Didn't watch any of the game (it's still football season??) but happy for Nibbler to go well (although not too well!) as long as he doesn't play 100 games for that insipid mob.

The booing last night was disappointing. Football tribalism at its worst, and it brought to mind the time Liverpool fans booed Patrice Evra after he reported being racially abused by one of their players.

What's worse - booing a victim of a slur, falsely thinking he was responsible for reporting it, or cheering a thug who has just ended another player's career and probably affected his future life?

Any Adelaide supporter who participated in the booing last night is an absolute [censored] and deserved to watch their team lose.

Honestly I'm completely turned off Adelaide now. After the way they've handled themselves over the past few weeks I want them to go out in straight sets. It's a shame because I love ANB.

Adelaide’s statement re the booing last night:
“We want members and footy fans to be barracking and passionate however, they should do so respectfully and any behaviour contrary to that is disappointing and not appropriate.”

Very weak statement.

Hope Maynard gets rubbed out but of course he won't, he is more protected than N.Daicos.

If only Nibbler decked Maynard that would have been awesome, doing it for Gus!

In some cases I do believe two wrongs make a right.

I think in the back of all our minds is the fact that if Angus Brayshaw had ever played again or even taken an end if season lap of honour, the Collingwood crowd would have booed him.

There are deep problems in some people's values, every club has a slice of these people who take football as an opportunity to embrace a completely anti-moral tribalism, but... there's a scale where some clubs actively leverage it and some clubs have it embedded in their executive culture.

We all know the game would be better and even richer if Collingwood were removed.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
