Well, all here are welcome to get behind my Green Bay Packers (a similarly historic club owned by the fans playing at a similarly historic stadium) as the NFL season starts.

Most metres gained. His effort in q4 was extraordinary. Wrestling the ball out of the centre. Started the chain of handballs leading to our only goal ( which he kicked)

Do me a favour, watch the last quarter again, concentrating on Tracc and Sparrow. Perhaps Sparrow has lost confidence but his q4 was appalling

Pay wise, we get 3 to 4 sparrows for petracca, least u get consistent effort

Enjoy your honourable loss. I’m not giving this club a second of my time until rd 1 next year. Couldn’t care less.

I am sick of losing to these [censored] pieces of [censored]. I thought I didn't care at this point with the season gone, but losing this after being in a winning position has infuriated me. I genuinely hate them.

I'm not feeling very Buckley tonight

What it showed is how bad our ball skills are and how we are unable to think through things in the third quarter we played a more man on man especially in the forward line and in the last we stopped playing man on man and we got exposed players watching the ball not their man getting loose and didn't chase to cover space, but in saying that they did better than I expected Trac looked like he wanted to win the game off his own boot and the harder he tried the worse he got, Rivers the good the bad and the ugly all rolled into one would love to get a decent midfield coach to teach him bring on next year and I hope it's skills, skills and more skills over and over again preseason.

Pass

Been saying this for 2 years! Ed Langdon sums up what our team has been for the last 3 years. Effort but no end product. The amount of times that guy kicks it out on the full is beyond words. Last week he had10 direct clangers, the next closest of anyone in both sides was 6.

When it mattered most, Langdon kicked it out on the full, rivers point, trac point, Gawn on the full. The only thing missing is Oliver kicking a point lol.

Comes from not being managed and playing for another AA jacket

Comes from being captain and feeling a sense of responsibility to keep carrying the team.

The exhaustion is far more mental than physical, believe me.

He's had to once again carry this club & be the spokesperson for everything.

Plus he said on mmm this morning his son Louis was up crying most of the night

Louise is a Melbourne man. He’s crying like the rest of us.

What was wrong with the "body slam"?

Kozzy had a free. kick paid against him for exactly the same thing earlier in the game.

Yeah that free against Pickett was a disgrace, but what Cameron didn't look like a free to me.

Clarry was our best player for mine and it was easily his best game since 2023. 9 score involvements, 1 goal assist at 87% with 19 handballs from 30 disposals. He was really good. High damage and low turnover count with only 3 from 30. Interesting thing was only 2 clearances though.

This team is just fake fit. No one is surprised we coughed that up because it's been the same for 2 seasons now. "Loading" excuses always been laughable.

Also Harry Sharp played the worst game i've seen all year last week, got to be sub this week and was a negative influence.

Said it for the whole year club made the right decision with Simon and Selywn clean your Locker out your done also.

Last quarters have been nothing short of disgraceful the last 2 years.

A slow decline in fitness year on year ever since Burgess left the building.

It's just about consistency though. If you're going to pay it against Kozzy, you have to pay it against Cameron. I wouldn't have paid it either time.

Gee he must really love the Dees.

Believe they wrongly paid the Kozzy one as a trip, not a dangerous tackle.

Nothing to do with consistency, just a woeful decision.

Well try supporting the raiders then come and talk.

That makes it 5 games lost by a goal or less and 0 won, not sure if that’s a good or bad thing, either we are only a few small changes from turning things round to some degree or we are a team that goes to water when the pressure is on.

Thank God for Gawn, he is an absolute beast. His ruckwork isn't great but his around the ground work is phenomenal. The effort he puts in should shame some of our other players.

Langford was good.

Rivers had a good second half after looking all at sea in the middle to start with. Imagine if he'd been given a whole season to develop as a mid....

This team is so frustrating to watch, they do so much right but just shoot themselves in the foot again and again. At once stage it seriously felt like we were watching a team of special eds running around out there not professional athletes.

@binman there was a definite change to our ball movement that I noticed tonight (although the execution was diabolical) with the play on mantra, taking the shorter options etc. I'll admit this is one I likely got wrong as it's unlikely they just flicked a switch in the final game and have probably been working on it all season. My confirmation bias was probably noticing the long down the line/around the boundary kicks more than the alternative methods although I think we definitely tried the faster ball movement more frequently tonight. Short of going back and watching games from earlier this season again (which I'd rather stick hot pokers in my eye than do) it would be difficult to analyse so I'll admit Goodwin was trying to implement changes to the ball movement. I don't think that mitigates the other faults Goodwin had but on this one happy to say I was wrong.

What a shame we couldn't even snaffle a draw.

I just hope Adelaide are ready for Collingwood in a couple of weeks time. They'll want revenge.

Wow, what a pack of sad sacks you are!!! Must st people were predicting a 186 type blow out, fantastic effort by all, yes some made mistakes but that happens. Get some perspective people. Max awesome, Clarry great, Rivers, Langdon, Langford, Sparrow all tried their heart out. I for one think there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel. The rest of you go follow some other team!!!

Yep we are the champs at honourable losses 🥳🙄

Oh well another disappointing season of let downs.

We're in for a massive off season.

In 5 weeks we should have a new coach.

Now focus on the Melbourne storm who once again never fail to disappoint.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
