The boys are all in their junior football guernseys. Some jarring sights here: Essendon, Richmond, Collingwood etc. guernseys. Tmac asked me if his jumper is too small (it is) but I said it looks fine. Nothing wrong with a belly hanging out from a jumper, right?

Any interesting 'tree' people ?? 🤔

My boy Luker won’t be debuting this season. He’s not as disappointed as I thought he’d be. He said they don’t want him in his debut going up against Barrass and Battle, or Collingwood. LOL… they didn’t specify filth players, they must mean the whole side.

I’ll attempt it. The jumper is not only too short, it’s skintight as well. He’ll take out someone’s eye with his nipple.

He’s the one we should all be hoping has a healthy, massive preseason ! Round 1 awaits

I was keen to see him in the ones to get a look at him. But on reflection i'd much prefer he play out the season at Casy and continue his development.

Doing so also supports Casey finishing off the season strongly which i think has an outsize importance with all that has gone on. A strong finish by Casey puts a pep in everyone's step, partic if we also have a strong start to our AFLW season.

And it creates an opportunity for our young players to gel, develop their own game and have a shared experience they can carry forward in their time at the dees. Plus it creates an opportunity for Fullerton to continue to thrive down back which could be a lifeline for his AFL career.

@Ghostwriter do you know if Kolt, Sharp and Howes are eligible to play VFL finals (i'm assuming Cullley is)?

He saw me trying to sneakily take a pic so he pulled the jumper down, crossed his arms to keep it down, and breathed in…1AFB4D1F-00EB-450F-B9A9-64CBECB02476.jpeg

That is understandable.

I look forward to his debut next year, bigger and stronger.

Clarry in hoops is vomit inducing.

Tell him horizontal stripes are very unflattering please.

They’d all gone back to AAMI when I read this. I had a chat with Chocco right at the end and he’d know about this since he’s at Casey matches.

After training he put his arms out like someone who’s wearing a Demons jumper. I told him I can’t hug him in that revolting jumper so he said he’ll take it off. I weighed up a Geelong jumper hug vs a sweaty topless hug and went the sweaty topless hug route (I took one for the team). As I walked away he yelled out “GO CATS!” 🤬

Droppable offense. Hope you told Chaplin.

Fantastic stuff Ghosty. All present today bar Lever, Hore, McAdam and AMW.

Windsor present doing some light stretches, after his hamstring injury on Sunday.

As usual Tom Campbell didn't do much and looks to be carrying a lower leg or foot problem. Hendo coping with a groin issue - but I expect both of them still to be available for Casey.

Xavier Lindsay was running laps and did not join the soccer. Fritter also running laps and TMac did not do much. Good to see Sestan there.

The mood was certainly much more update than last week's Captain's Run.

We'll get the official injury report shortly.

So I asked Luker to sign this jumper of mine in readiness for when he debuts (next season, but you never know)…

Before he signed it he was waving the sharpie around with a very serious look on his face. I asked him what he was doing. He said, “I’m practicing first, I wanna make sure I do it properly.” He was actually fresh-airing his signature. Bless. 🥹

Sounds a good management plan.

Keep him away from Moore’s knees.

Is that Turner in the tigers top behind kozzie’s right shoulder? How’re the pipes!

I want to see Bailey in a Big V jersey for real life - He looks ace in it.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
