PAY SO HE CAN PLAY

Jaded No More

As part of trying to bring the Newton hysteria to all new levels, Demonland is proud to launch the Michael Newton Pledge.

The idea is as follows; pledge as much or as little money as you can afford to donate to the club, if Newton debuts this week.

Here are the rules:

1- Money will only be taken if Newton actually gets a game

2- If you pledge money in this thread, you have to follow through and pay up

3- All money goes directly to the MFC to help fund our new facilities and such

4- We will try and generate as much publicity as we can about this, maybe even get the papers involved

This is a good way to generate some much needed money for the club.

We don't expect it to actually work, but who knows...

Remember, if you want him to play, you gotta pay.

How do we go bout paying?

Cause im keen (besides the fact i have no money) just would like 2 know this

Hopefully all payment details and such will be posted a little later on.

I'll get back to ya... in the meantime, pledge away people as the sooner we raise the money, the sooner we can start publicising the cause.

potentially $30

pretty good for a man who has no money

I am [censored] off that when Newton finally gets to play, he is going to be under extreme pressure with all this massive build up, instead of being slotted in about 6 or 7 weeks ago like he should have.

So, although i can afford a pledge. I won't on the grounds of not wanting to put the kid under undue pressure.

This has nothing to do with pressure. He'll be under pressure regardless of when or where, or how much money he'll raise on debut.

This is actually a way of getting money out of Melbourne supporters. We're just disguising it ;)

I dont see he'll be under any more pressure than jsut being selected...might chuff him a little to realise we have faith even when the coach doesnt !!

All right, $10 just because I've never seen the guy play, and because it'd be worth that much to watch everyone here go stark raving mad.

Another $5 for each quarter of the game that he actually spends time on the ground instead of the bench - lets put pressure on him being given a decent go, not on the kid to kick goals, right?

And if they give him a run at the Manuka Oval game against Sydney, I'll personally hand it over with an extra $20 at the after match function!

Oh crap. Did I just commit to up to $50?

I'm a freakin' student for christs sake!

Manuka oval against the swans might be a good place for him actually - not much you can do there except bang it long and hope, so his speccies would be worth the trouble.

So far a total of:

Demonland $290

Demonology $250

$540 so far in total...

Just to note, all money will go to the Demonology/Demonland 150 Club. Money will sent directly to the club with a form, which I will send to all those who have pledged via email.

To get this form in advance, email me at [email protected]

For more information on the Demonology/Demonland 150 Club initiative, see HERE

And that's before he even kicked a goal!

Good job everyone, that's money the club could really use.

Anything that helps the club financially is fine by me but surely the club doesn't need to have monetary inducements to give any particular player a game. Besides which, isn't this likely to put even more pressure on the kid if he's supposed to be fragile or whatever?

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
