Hopefully Oscar to beat Norris on the latter's home track.

If it's the other way the WDC is wide open.

Storm who are in third place play the Cowboys (12th) in Townsville. As it's State Of Origin week could be an upset. Storm have been hot and cold and have lost a few close ones.

And of course there's cricket with Australia playing the Windies and England playing India in a ripper of a series in UK.

AFL..... does it matter anymore. I'm more interested in the Tasmanian elections and the Devil's saga. (Tasmanian politics are very boring)

Edit... sorry I forgot Wimbledon. With a number of the top seeds dropping is this "the Demon's" year to go deep into the tournament?

looks like 9 games with 40pt winners

please give us some upsets!!

top 9 vs bottom

top 9 should all win, and win well

the only one that strikes as a 'hmm, maybe' upset is bloods over flagmantle

pear have been in decent form too and might surprise the bears; if we can beat the latter on their home deck, i see no reason why the pear can't too

If that happens and it easily could the tenth team will effectively be four games behind the ninth.

Amazing with seven rounds to go

Interesting tonight. Nth will want to put on a good show with their celebration & apparently Dennis pagan is giving the pre match address.

But looking forward to seeing what Sam Darcy can do.

Thank goodness tomorrow night is a double header so I can watch Eagles v giants & not filth & carlton.

didn't realise gw$ were going to be missing so many players

meth coke would want to be competitive, at the very least

Who are they missing?

Could be a 🍌for them.

Should have enough in them to get it done but stranger things have happened.

Great coverage on Kayo of North’s centenary celebrations. Denis Pagan’s speech to the players was stirring and heartfelt.

Conflicted, really wanted to hear from all those North champions but could’ve done without roaming Brian

Roaming Brian is a total buffoon. Barging into conversations unwanted and uninvited. The way he pulled Glendinning away from his conversation with past teammates was rude and boorish. Cringing to watch.

its a shame that Larkey will waste his career at North. fine player.

He may well end up a premiership player at North

Souva, four goals in this first quarter. The one time I don’t mind hearing Coldplay over and over again.

Would love Ch7 to poach David King and Jack Riewoldt this offseason.

But not Matt Hill aka the best of them all

that goal umpire needs an eye test. the ball was miles over the line and he was looking right at it. pointless review

Deary me. Who's idea was it to play North v Footscray on a Thursday night? You can hear every sound echoing around the ground it's so empty. And North celebrating their 100th year tonight.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
