Windsor,Langford and Langdon ........ good idea as midfielder.

Would like to see Sestan defence and perhaps give Howes a go forward.

None of the above is going to happen as per usual . It is like

This seems to be a running trend which is sad, everyone offering up our backs to go forward. Surely the club after also doing that with Petty, Turner, Tmac will maybe start pulling for a decent forward instead of sending our backs forward.

My tip, 7.13. Loss in the 30’s. Hopeful I’ll be proven wrong but I’ve lost hope.

Living up to your username, I see. 😉

Nathan Buckley described Gold Coast as a side made for summer football.

So I think the only way we're a chance on Saturday is if the conditions are damp at a minimum, and it doesn't look like much rain (if any) is forecast on Saturday afternoon.

What are your (early) match ups at the pointy end of the fields?

If they were Melbourne we’d be saying they’ve been dropping games because of mid season loading. They play us this weekend. We’ll beat them and a tiny glint will appear in our eyes…..maybe just maybe we can still win this!

After poor loses to the saints and Port I have lost interest in the 2025 season. My granddaughters playing basketball has been way more enjoyable. A Dee’s friend will be in SEQ this week, his answer to the question of whether he is going to the game was “why spoil my weekend” It appears to me that we have slid to the also rans group. Seriously short of quality players who can kick goals. The 2- 3 good years which include a premiership have come and gone. I guess it was good while it lasted.

Yeah I think you've nailed it.

We'll kick 7.13 and they won't miss with 14.5.

We'll dominate either the second or third quarter but kick an atrocious 3.7. We'll then give an undisciplined free kick goal with 5 minutes left in the quarter and they'll kick another quick 2 to put the game to bed.

You can already write the script.

Having just seen the injury report and noting Johnson has had ankle surgery, I think Will Verral will be a sneaky chance thgis week. GW made the suggestion and now the opportunity arises. Let Jeff or JVR play a key position and have Verral as Max's support.

Spot on Old Dee. Been going to the Vixen’s games and watching my daughter play netball in the Northern Football Netball League. Far more enjoyable. I love the Dees and will be forever grateful for 2021, but gee they have broken me this year.

I’m convinced that AFL is actually WWE, all scripted. 😂 it’s the only thing that explains how many inside 50’s we get, and that we lose most games with kicking so poorly. Has to be a script..

Home and Away is full of 💩 though

JvR’s first milestone… 50 games. We made this week’s banner as well as next week’s (vs Adelaide) two weeks ago and left a space across the top of both lest he doesn’t line up this weekend. We have a printed strip acknowledging his 50th which will be stuck down prior to the match.

It’s Kolt’s 20th birthday on Saturday (gameday) and hopefully he’s named in one of the sides (VFL if not AFL) because we have some Happy Birthday Kolt posters printed, and inflated “20” balloons. We don’t do the birthday thing with every player but we have a couple of cheer squad gals who’re massive Kolt fans and this is their doing 🤗 If he doesn’t play on Saturday we’ll keep the posters for next year and get an inflatable “1” to replace the “0”

— Ghosty… bringing you the MFC news that matters

😜

No change

unless injuries i’m not aware of

JVR hopefully working into some form

Perhaps Laurie or Brown in for Howes if we want to mix things up

If Jefferson continues to play well and can be more physical he might get a game in a couple of weeks

Layz, bro, give up already. 😅

I hope Kolt plays VFL. He should be ripping Casey games to shreds by now. He needs to be held to the same standards as other youngsters.

It will be interesting to see who we prioritise for a negative role. Anderson or Rowell? I’d go after Anderson personally. Is Lindsay fit enough to learn some lessons? Something different for him and the midfield group. I’d get Clazz to start on Rowell’s shoulder at all times. Chin to Rioli. Push Salem forward, bring McVee up a little into Salo’s role. Simples…. Oh and try anyone not named Disco Turner as a key forward. Literally anyone else.

B Howes May Lever

B Bowey Turner McVee

C Langdon Viney Langford

F Petracca McDonald* Melksham

F Pickett JVR Salem

R Gawn Oliver Lindsay

Windsor Jefferson Rivers Laurie Fritsch

Out Sparrow Petty

In Jefferson Laurie McDonald

If Petty gets picked to play forward this week I will demand a Senate Inquiry.

*I understand that McDonald is unlikely to line up as a forward.

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
