“There's list management strategy that sits behind it, we have been to the draft the last two years and we think we are in a really good spot. No one is being pushed out the door. We are just having mature conversations." - Tim Lamb

Wow, 7 posts in succession, yet Lamb could not get the first trade under the new rules trading a pick in two years.

We are in a bad place 🧐

I don’t think we will have the picks to want to rookie Woey.

Next year is a huge inflection point - 20 players OOC and there are 5 no brainers for an extension - the rest have question marks. We can’t go that young that quickly.

I'd assume the FD has Campbell, McAdam, May and McDonald and Laurie's papers stamped, Woey too if he gets to the start line

Adams, Jefferson, Kentfield almost certainly will get 1yr-ers at least as "depth" if they havent broken through.

AMW, Culley, Sparrow, Henderson, Johnson would therefore be in your playing for a contract bracket

Mentha should only need to turn up to get a third year on the B list

leaving Melky to be a form call

and the rest are priorities, Bowey, Turner, Salem, Fritsch, Chandler

Probably not the right thread- but has there been any update on JTs contract? He’s out of contract at the end of this year is that correct still?

Very worrying if so.

Tim. Tim Lamb. Don’t cave in now !!! Don’t talk a big game and then bottle it at the end. You need to screw the Suns if they want Petracca. If they don’t give up Humphrey, then it’s going to cost them heavily in picks. My only deal is

Trac and pick 27 for “7 &8 and Suns 2026 1st round pick”. That’s the bare bare minimum. Anything else is just getting [censored] over !!

How about you post a link to your post that said Oliver's contract was a bad idea at the time ...

Let’s face it we were all smitten with Clarry Choo Choo at the time and would have been disgusted with the club had we lost him to another club. We had no reason to believe his form would not continue in a similar vein to his previous seven years, [censored] happens unfortunately. How could we have known that Clayton would go off the rails, Gus would be knocked unconscious and retired and that Tracc would be so badly injured that he fell out of love with the club in a two year period. It’s not the clubs fault it is just mind numbing tragic.

Anyone surprised?

Who’s going to be this years last minute Tim Lamb special for a throw away future 3rd or 4th rounder

Ok with Mihocek - 2 year deal … a teacher and short term forward fix

Ok with Max Heath as a project young ruck … we need life after 👑Max Gawn

Ok with CJ as a punt “if” we give up only a packet of chips pick - say GWS’ 2026 future 3rd!!!

Unhappy with Mcvee going to Freo but he held out for a long long time and resisted our contract offers. A loss but at least we salvaged a decent pick - “19” which became “24”

Not satisfied with

🏆Clarry for the future 3rd … a sad end (only in the future will we ever know what has really happened)

🏆Trac & 24 for 7&8 … If no Humphrey, then needed to reinforce #no Trac? Why give up on “24”? We wanted a player and caved. Why give up this?? Mix other picks, even 28 or 42. It’s another sad end to an outstanding career in red&blue

Nonsense. The club knew all about Oliver's problems when they did the deal. Maybe they never thought it would spiral the way it did, but at a minimum they should have included certain protections.

it is very easy to throw cash at a star player. Lamb should not be applauded for doing so.

List management is not a short term game - but he has consistently made short term decisions that jeopardise the future of the club. Not strategic, not part of a cohesive vision - just re sign the stars (regardless of their issues) and pick up [censored] at the finish & around the fringes to make it look like you're doing something. Oh, and trade out of all future drafts too.

He has constantly traded the future for the present, and we are paying for it BIG TIME right now.

As soon as this period finishes, he should unequivocally be given his marching orders.

(Unless he lands Bailey Humphrey)

Probably the same ones that defended him on this thread only not long ago lol

Unfortunately Lamb will get bashed by our supporters and be made the scapegoat, when the returns we get for Trac and Clarry aren’t his fault entirely. They’ve tried hard to get Humphrey, we’re blocked by the Suns and that’s the best you could ask to be active and trying to make things happen. Today is going to be a sad day as we lose 2 legends of the footy club, but to get 2x Top 10 picks for a 30 year old, and to get more salary off the books is decent business in really tough circumstances for the list management team.

Some feel the need for a scapegoat, Lamb the easy target.

I’d prefer to reflect on the players (Clarry, Trac, McVee and May), as well as their coach during the past couple of years (Goodwin) and the exec and board who signed off on it all and let it run… A well meaning mid-tier manager running contracts with the direction of the above seems too easy a target.

Or it just that he’s the only one left at the club we can blame?

I agree he does not have the acumen for the job. I respect King for wanting to move on Oliver but this should have been done last year, for all parties. To be traded now for a 3rd rounder is unacceptable and he needs to bare the cost of this.

What if not moving Clarry on last year was the board’s decision and not Lambs?

Even thought I am critical of Lamb if the Suns are paying 100% of his salary then Picks 7 and 8 is a good deal. Humphrey was never coming and we should stop moaning about this.
