May will have very little market value

Seems like late-career Robbie Tarrant to me. The 'buyer' would be desperately banking on a frankly implausible return to the form of several seasons ago.

Steven May is obsessed with playing in front and intercepting rather than basic defending. If he isn’t moved forward he will struggle getting a game next year. Really struggled at times this year.

May to Full Forward. Not sure that’s the answer. Kentfield showed really good signs over the past 5 games and might be ready to step up with a good preseason 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Lots has been said in the last few weeks about us being in the wilderness, needing a massive rebuild and not being a good team etc. But if you look at our games against the top 9 teams - how lost are we?

Adelaide - lost by 13 points
Geelong - pantsed
Brisbane - beat them by 11 points
Collingwood - lost by 1 point, lost by 6 points
Gws - lost by 3 points,
Freo - won by 10 points
Hawthorn- pantsed twice
Bulldogs - lost by 6 points
Gold Coast - pantsed, lost by 19 points

Anyway the article says very little, summarises each player on the list and has a going/staying verdict.

Only ones Going - Billings, Hore, Fullarton, Taj, Kynan Brown, Henderson,

Some ? on May, Petracca, Lever, Oliver

Nothing groundbreaking

I think this is dependant on how far Casey go in finals. I doubt we make any delistings until their season is done, which possibly gives some players a 'last chance' (Fullarton, Woey Jnr, Brown) to attempt to keep a list spot, or show rivals their wares.

Billing’s yes delist

I’d have a look at Culley?

Trade Spargo Laurie, yes but don’t think we’d get much

Be open to trade JVR.

Be open to trade Salem

Agree with all except Salem. Culley is a keep for mine. You are supposing 6 changes, that is a high number by the averages. The problem is who are you bringing in to replace them? It's pointless if you are only replacing one nqr with another nqr. Take JVR as an example. Good Key forwards seem to be rarest of players across the league. In JVR's case in his first year he showed a lot of promise. Since then zero improvement imo. I don't think you would get much if you traded him. From memory we coffed up a first round pick for him. In my wildest dreams I don't think we would get more than a 2nd round pick.

Read it this morning, was an absolute waste of time. Very little analytical value at all and it just rolled with the status quo. Not saying it's altogether untrue, but yeah - nothing ground-breaking or overtly insightful.

So who is in charge of all these decisions ??

I'm all with signing up Melk & T-Mac but how can we be doing all this without a coach??

So we are interviewing everyone and saying you can come and coach but have no say on list till end of next year !!!!

We can't have the board dictating list management, their current record of any governance is woeful.

We make the wrong calls this off season it could be another decade down the bottom.

Agree with Billings, Woey, Brown. Laurie. While McAdam has been a waste of a mid 20's pick, he should remain for his finally year just for financial reasons. The club will be bleeding $ due to Goodwin payout and possibly Oliver - we would be paying at least 60% of his contract to move him on.

Glad we kept Culley. He's a big lad, great leap and runs hard. Could easily be a tall forward or 2nd back.

Spargo is the tricky one. I like his craft and the forward line functions better when he plays, but his injuries are becoming a hinderance. Not sure of his contract status, but could give him a lower offer with game trigger incentives.

JVR is a keeper. He is judged much too hard. His development has been stunted by the terrible ball movement of the mids. He is a pure leading forward, not a 1v1. At the games I watched his leading patterns and double backs. He knows what to do, but every time the ball was held up and the lead ignored. The ball ended up on his head as he was doubling back resulting in 1v1. He's a great kick, and will only get stronger as he fills out. Only 22.

Agree with most of what you've said. I think there is a 50/50 chance that McAdam 'retires' Hunter style (basically a settlement/contract payout to open the list spot.)

Oliver is going to be going nowhere. Had better form the last few weeks and very little external interest. I'd back him in for a big preseason.

Culley probably is more of a tall winger than a 2nd back or key forward. However I could also see him playing as a 2nd/3rd forward who can leap and clunk big marks.

Spargo is an unrestricted free agent, so basically if the club decides to not delist him, the ball is in his court. Once again though, I wouldn't think there would be much external interest, could come down to the new coaches preference.

JVR just needs a big pre-season with better inside 50 entries next year. I have him locked in for 30+ goals next year barring any serious injury.

Heath, Derksen, White and Sinnema have been linked to us if anyone else gets linked I'll put them in same as if anyone out of contract gets a contract then I'll put them in.

i would hope we're done with bringing in players from other clubs to play in the 2nds

it's poor list management

After the Elimination final I will do another edition.

If Heath comes in there's no need for Campbell.

I'm not sure how we can get a seasoned key forward unless we don't go for Derksen and\or McVee doesn't sign.

Journalism at its worst. We're passionate but not always right. We at domonland don't know the analytics at training or the injuries the players are carrying.

When I last went to training which was recent they had drones flying over, gps monitors on the players and heart.mlnotors on them

It's not an exact science but you have to back in what we are doing. We don't have half the team out like Essendon.

We will have a fresh start next yearScreenshot_20201212-162957.jpeg

If that’s our team in Round one next year we’ll finish in the VFL. Kemp FFS!! If we recruit him as our FF I’m never going to the football again. Please enough already!

Not a fan of Kemp?

@whatwhat say what given you want to keep Fullarton, what’s your proposed changes? To free up the 6 or 7 list vacancies as needed?

if we lose all of the following:

  • mcvee

  • billings

  • hore (rookie)

  • verrall (rookie)

  • fullarton

  • woey 2.0

  • pup brown (rookie)

  • henderson (rookie)

then that's 4 senior listed players and 4 rookies moved on

hopefully mcvee stays, and it'd be 3 and 4

presumably kalani white and toby sinnema, plus potentially noah yze, come on as rookie list players at this stage

that means we'd go to the draft with 3-4 picks available, plus 1 rookie spot, if we don't upgrade culley, kentfield, sestan, or mentha to the senior list, which i don't think we have to do under current rules

I doubt White and Sinnema will be rookied. They are supposed to be picked mid range in the draft. Remember we are only allowed to have 6 rookies we currently have 8 due to the inclusion of Henderson and Culley.

all will be revealed by december i guess

In the draft I would go for Ludowyke, if not Ludowyke then Dovastan or McCarthy. For the rookie draft I'd go for Cross and Yze.
