On now

Thanks dees189227 how good were Kozzie and Bobby (Ian) Hill, they are both a bit shy but such great players.

Not sure if he was nervous & I know he doesn't do to much media but he didn't say a lot.

Obviously we aren't a club to have a few laughs seeing as he said he hasn't laughed so much since he had a week with the all stars team.

I found it more amusing to find out Bobby Hills actual name is Ian

Thought Bobby Hill came across really well. Koz is just shy.

Winston Abraham was also good value, I was at Manuka Oval that day he took Mark of the year. Appeared out of nowhere and got so high!! Amazing mark.

Great to see the wiz goal of the year again.

Kozzie was a bit shy but I didn't like it when he was asked about his old man designing the jumper this week and he responded by saying it was great honour / gesture from "the team I play for". Would have loved him to say the Dees or Melbourne football club.

Kudos for putting himself out their completely outside his comfort zone but it would have been nice if he mentioned his love for Melbourne when given the opportunity like Petracca did today.

Hopefully I am overacting to it. Their media skills are about as far as apart as their kicking efficiency.

It’s a fluke that l saw the ad for this show.

I stopped watching it years ago ago.

Tonight was fantastic with 5 Aboriginal stars.

Loved all the player highlights, Kossie, Ian, Michaels, Winston Abraham, Michael Long and The Wiz briefly. But gee Stephen Michaels is a very impressive character, a real ambassador for the indigenous game.

I haven't seen this week's episode of the front bar yet, but from the previous footage I've seen of Kozzie, it rings true that he came across as a bit shy. Not sure he's exactly the polished media performer, but then again, neither is Cayton Oliver and I'm not sure I'd perform that well in front of a camera either, even if I could play footy as fraction as well as those guys.

I wouldn't be getting too hung up about words of love for the MFC. I'd personally just put that down as an extension of the same shyness and lack of full expressiveness in English/in the media spotlight. ...by the way, I mean no condescension by saying a lack of expressiveness in English - as I say to others in similar situations that they "speak a second language far better than I do".

Haven't seen it but he could be just playing the game to maximise his next contract.
He's doing it on the field and if he wants to maximise his payday he'll use the tried and true method of keeping the club guessing.
If he wants a huge contract he'll be off to another club cause that's how you do it.

Oop ... Just found it on You-tube.

Kozzie struck me as quiet but very confident

A great show. Loved all the interviews and hubahuba, how good a player was Steven Michael!!

Kozzie isn’t shy, he’s introverted. It’s pointless trying to read into anything he says publicly because he’s extremely uncomfortable speaking to many people at once and this affects what he says and/or the way in which he says things.

Winston Abraham was brilliant.

I still remember the freakish mark he took that year.

I was there that day daz. Was really crowded and suddenly he appeared on top of everyone out of nowhere. Great memories, that and Carlton Ice (I think) in plastic stubiies!!

I do not miss Canberra!!!!

If Kosi plays well and is pleasant it really doesn't matter if he's quiet or can barely express himself in any language. Yes, teams need leaders but not every player has to be. Kosi's fine as he is.

BTW often the most recent episode of Front Bar is on YouTube for a few days. But often they get removed so you'd need to catch it soon (or stream on ch7 with ads)

I don't watch it anymore either, there's only so many glorified youtube clip shows I can take.

Thanks for letting us know about this one though I'll have a look.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
