We have an interim President, acting CEO, effectively a caretaker coach & FD boss, still no home base & other issues not in the least our on-field performance.

The writing has been on the wall for a while now, maybe even just before the flag.

Those who voted for the status quo have a bit of thinking to do...

Big decisions need to be made but we don't have a management team in place to make them..

A well run club doesn't end up in this position.

Who should we vote for?

We have Steven Smith coming in to take over as President.

The poor bloke might not want come back from his holidays to Europe.

Blame the returned board completely! Bunch of nobodies with nothing to add! Chair warmers! The Club needs new blood and vision and some hard decisions Brad Green sacrificial lamb on the spit already

I'm putting blame on those that voted the status quo, or those that did by default in not voting at all.

On the filed the game moved on and our coach and players have not been able to adapt

Off the field we accepted poor behaviour from clarry. If there is one thing I would do differently if had the time over would be to show him the door. He’s been a culture killer.

In hindsight goody should have been let go at the end of last year. The problems that were evident have not been addressed.

And pert and roffey presided over this. I can forgive roffey because she doesn’t know footy. But pert botched it all. Best culture he’d ever seen.

Nonsense post. What would be different now if we voted for Lawrence instead of Smith? And how would that difference have come about?

Yep this is the one. If not show him the door at least make him earn his place back in the squad via the VFL last season.

So how is any of that my fault? None of this was up for vote at the agm. It’s fine to be upset at the team being no good, but firing shots at innocent bystanders isn’t really productive.

yep. very strange decision. It made no sense to select Pert over josh mahoney

Multiple years of white-anting culminate in a coup so demonstrably based on vendettas and vain emotional fulfillment that it proceeded without even a plan for a successor or any articulated new agenda.

The white anters - This is the previous leadership's fault for allowing themselves to be white-anted. Everyone who didn't support the white-anting is responsible for the white-anting.

I was actually thinking about a somewhat similar thread with a title like;

We are not in this together.

Some people have undermined every action taken and every message the club has presented, for years, perhaps decades, because they'd rather be lords of the dungheap than see the club thrive under leaders they dislike.

Entrecote was the first time the culture stuff came to a head for me and it really shone a light into the thought process some of our players had. A work hard/play hard mentality which isn't always a bad thing when you're winning.

We'll never know some of the stuff that happend off field in 2020 and 2021, fair to say it wasn't nothing, but is it the voter's fault? Honestly don't know.

It's a fair question Rjay, I just genuinely don't know the answer either way.

There's always been such an unknown about how our election processes work and maybe we do now have a higher level of input than we think. It's difficult because the ones who are voting conciously do it with the trust that they will do the right thing.

Maybe demanding change does indeed start with sticking your neck out and voting differently? Who knows

People need to calm down.

The fall away the last 4 weeks has been astonishing. (The 1st game against GWS I walked away thinking we were back and would play finals.)

Significant changes can't be made atm. List is set, no assistant coach ready to step up to senior role.

Why do we not have a CEO after 6 months?

Besides:

We have 15 premiership players. A generational ruckman, multiple AA mids and AA backs. Premiership coach. 3 or 4 top draft pics over the past 2 years. Clubs all have similar fitness regimes, so fitness not the issue. Jackson and Brayshaw the 2 significant list changes since 2022/3. And Yze has left. (Significant?)

Not sure want the answer is. Is there a major club disruption we don't know about? I don't believe it's the players or the coach.

And you have to really know what's happening in the club, not the team, to vote with knowledge. How many of us do?

The obsession with Peter Lawrence is getting ridiculous. But worse still is Melbourne supporters blaming eachother for our current predicament.

How are we to blame? We simply support the Club and buy our memberships. To say it is our fault is utterly moronic.

Peter Lawrence has had multiple opportunities to get elected to the Melbourne Football Club Board and simply didn't get enough votes. He might get elected in the future, but who knows?

What Brad Green and the Melbourne Football Club Board need to be focusing on is getting a new CEO, getting our Home Base built at Caulfield Race Course and dealing with the current situation with finding a replacement for Simon Goodwin as coach and an overhaul of our entire football department.

That's ALOT to deal with.

What I do hope though is that the wealthier board members and Melbourne members, such as Chris Barlow (who's family is worth $1.5 billion dollars), will help financially contribute to the building of our Home Base at Caulfield Race Course. They need to put their money where their mouth is.

Bizarre thread. Yeah, it’s all the fault of the members. If that’s the case I assume we can all claim credit for 2021? I’m still waiting for my cheque….
