Gee Darcy is a gun. A bloody smart footballer for someone so young.

Monumental choke by the Dogs. 40 points up and stopped

I see Clarko was whinging about playing in the heat. It's April Clarko. Other teams had to play today to.

Can't hide under your protected roof of a stadium

Dogs up by 40 points in the 3rd Q

Losing by 27 now

unbelievably soft performance

Unbelievable choke by Footscay. 39 points into the 3rd Quarter

I can’t believe they couldn’t defend on such a small ground

Treacy with 3 goals in the first 7 minutes! Richmond with 3 goals… looks set to be a fast, open, high scoring game.

My only complaint… do we have to listen to Derm?

He's a hard listen Hardtrack. And there's also the realization that the Toiges may beat us.

The Tigers will towel us up if they continue to play like this. They move the ball quickly and their smalls are dangerous. They also look to be playing as a team.

May? Put money on it.

Lmao, say we lose the next 3… after West Coast, Hawks, Brisbane, Sydney and St Kilda follow…

I know we are bound to win a match sooner rather than later because no team has ever gone winless in the AFL era, but watching teams like Richmond and to an extent St Kilda go past us at a serious rate just makes you laugh. St Kilda of all sides that can’t lure talent out of nowhere are looking like a top 8 side. They never beat Port, but the fashion in which they broke the duck was impressive.

You know why Brisbane got back into it? Because fagan gave them a spray at half time. Apparently said stand up if you think you're playing well. Only 1 player did which would had been interesting. But there's still room in the game for it. Goody plays the nice way

I've flicked over to the storm game.

Melbourne should study this team.

They work for each other, barely miss a tackle, play as a team and oh they win

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
