YIKES using the BNF this year as your evidence isnโ€™t inspiring confidence. Letโ€™s see if he can get double digits in the Brownlow tonight.

Well he got to 16 votes which aint bad considering how average he was this year compared to his usual standards.

You said he's on the decline. Just wondering what you're basing that on. If its due to concerns that he won't get back to his best post horrific injury last year then I totally get it. If its due to him now being in his 30's then sure I can understand that. Even if he bounced back a slow decline is always inevitable.

I just feel this year he was playing at 85% both physically/fitness wise and mentally because of what happened last year. Its pretty common that even just the rib injuries usually take 12 months to really get back to proper aerobic fitness (we saw this with Langden a few seasons ago). I think that was a big reason he played much more time forward this year (without much success unfortunately).

I've made the point a few times but I thought last year Trac was well on his way to a brownlow (or at least top 3 finish). I think he COULD have two or three more seasons playing at a very high standard and impact the team as someone like Lachie Neale has done through his early 30's. Of course he has his flaws with kicking being the obvious one where he went backwards from the better disposal he showed improvement on last year. Again how much of that is confidence in body and mind I don't know but he works on it a ton.

I don't think we're a good enough team to really, truly compete without him in the next few seasons. I hope he stays.

If players like this are the keys to success, Iโ€™ve no interest in the game. Some crew just want to chase flags. Iโ€™m not that crew. I like the club vibe.

Iโ€™m also drunk and sad in a very strange country.

You must be drunk. Flags are all that matter.

Cashing out only works if you are paid, even if you are correct and we need to rebuild what they are offering is unlikely to help, we need high end picks inside 5 not end of first round where it becomes speculative. If Dangerfield is any comparison trac still had 5-6 good years left, would you be advising blues to trade out Cripps for the same deal as they are essentially in the same boat as us.

0 votes to a midfielder taking up a crazy amount of our salary cap.

Of course he has upside, as many on here argue, largely because there isnโ€™t possibly any more downside.

Are you talking about Oliver wouldn't surprise me. Trac got 16 GUN

I think the point being made is that you dont trade a player that scores 16 votes in a down year for a few picks in one of the worst drafts in a while.

I cant really see much upside in trading Tracc unless there was an absolute offer too good to refuse.

And count how many Melbourne FC Norm Smith Medalists you can remember.

it seems t me he is the cultural problem at the dees

Hasn't put in 4 quarters for a long time.extremely poor body language points and blames other players, poor disposal

If you think Petracca is a cultural problem what's your thoughts on Oliver?

C Oliver 0 votes this year after missing just one game.

And some on here think he'll get back to his 2021-2022 form lols.

I know who I'd be trading out first and it ain't Petracca.

Demonland: "The Brownlow is a farce. The umps don't know what they're doing. That player didn't deserve votes in that game compared to this player."

Also Demonland: "Player X didn't score any Brownlow votes. Can't be any good. Trade him!".

Oliver IS the culture problem. No coincidence we went down the ladder when the Oliver\Smith saga happened. He's a player I'd love to get rid of I'd be paying half his salary to play for another team. Don't get me wrong he was a great player but he's a shadow of his former self. Smith ruined him got into the wrong crowd.

Pick 23 isn't going to make them foot a million + deal. We keep 23 and pay some of the Brand's deal.

Please donโ€™t call him the Brand. That was coined by the media and Tracc hates it. Regardless of what you think of Tracc, he deserves the respect of Demons fans to stop perpetuating that horrid term.

Iโ€™ll say this every single time I read this type of commentโ€ฆ Tracc HATES the term โ€˜Brand Petracca.โ€™ This term came from the media (iirc Damien Barrett) and at no point was it encouraged or embraced by Tracc or Bella or his family, ever. In fact, the term Brand Petracca makes Tracc sick. And angry. But what makes him angrier is when the term is attributed to him or someone in his camp.

Mate, you flip flop on everything.

We'll see you next week when you're screaming from the hills that we should trade Trac and blow Clarry.

Well in case you havenโ€™t noticed Smith is no longer with MFC any more.

Secondly it is agreed by most scribes and experts that Clarry was getting back to nearer his best in the last 6/7 weeks.

It b makes no sense football wise IMO with a new coach to ask or arrange for either Trac or Clarry to leave when it is a perfect opportunity for both to return to their best under Kingy.

Stephen May is different as he is older and there may be problems with some younger members of the backline that donโ€™t warm to his style of encouragement/ coaching on march days. We canโ€™t lose McVee Bowey Hores or Derksen unless Maysie is reformed or not frightening them if they make mistakes. Lever can handle that side with Tom or Petty if need be.

I love Maysie so maybe try him up forward if he is not taken by any other Club and if Rooy does not improve his marking put him back to get confidence.

Because Trac is 30 and on the decline. If GCS was to give us 6 and Flanders Iโ€™d take it and run.

Start running but you wonโ€™t see any MFC rep with that deal from GCSuns. They donโ€™t need mids Adelaide Carlton Tigers do though.

But Flanders would be a good get no doubt if we could swing it.

Melbourneโ€™s response to last weekโ€™s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coachโ€™s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast.ย In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourneโ€™s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย
