He also needs big bulls around him to get the ball.

I love him but he's been shown up in a few big finals now...

It's why we need balance in our midfield.

He would have Oliver and Langford supporting him.

I'd hope so. But I thought the discussion there was trading Oliver and Trac for picks to get Butters.

In 2023 Oliver led the competition for intercept possessions by non-defenders. Aside from immediate contests and clearance work, he played a subtle team-first game which covered space in the corridor much like Brayshaw was used to deny options on the wings.

Oliver can play for the team and do it well. When he's fit enough.

Sure, but it's 2025 not 2023.

As an option we could take White and Sinemma, trade out The Brand and take Butters. That’s a pretty good result for us.

That would be an absolute steal for us. We have to pay overs for Butters though. 1.2+ per year easily.

Need tough calls & trade value & our trading has been poor, consider who the pies got in Houston,Perryman,Membry, Schultz, Mcstay, vs Sharp, billings, Campbell (free agent), Jai Culley (SSP), Jack Henderson (SSP), Aidan Johnson (No.68) schache, Hunter Grundy

Need to trade Trac to the Pies for their 2026 & 2027 first round picks, they're on the way down

Both drafts will be compromised (27 severely) by Tassie’s entry

I’d love if they did that trade. It will keep them in the dumps for years to come.

When have Collingwood ever been in the dumps for years? Mid-late 90s?

He'll be 29 and 9 months come trade period. Can't see us getting more than a 1st and 2nd

Jordan Lewis on the radio said that hodge was the most selfless player which was the culture at the Hawks & didn’t see this when he played for us, the selfless theme was highly spoken in 21 .. I guess the weight of the medals changed this?

Yes but we’ve drafted Windsor, Kolt, Langford and Lindsay. Can’t have both.

Still have Tom Morris and the gutter merchants all banging on about Dees offloaded Trac or Clarry or both to get in before Tassie takes over the draft !!! Wtf

They criticize and then advocate to trade. Ffs.

Well we have two future first rounders to play with without any trades… That was my Thinking

They need something to talk about

Step 1 - Nonsense Filler
Step 2 - Weekend Games
Step 3 - Fall out from Games
Step 4 - Return to Step 1

To me, I don't see either going. I think Trac made a statement by changing his management to one that is not accredited to do trade or contract negotiations, as saying "I'm staying put". Oliver also doesn't want to leave, the main person he had a beef with is no longer in that role. I do think both need to show a better standard of playing than the last couple of weeks, and I feel as though that will happen. To me, the media are being their usual muckraking selves in that they're dirty with the fact their predictions in the last couple of years didn't pan out, and they're making stuff up. Again.

Trac started brightly with 6 coaches votes in Round 1 but he is down on some career averages.

I dont think Clarry has been that bad, collectively our midfield/gameplan struggles has made them look worse individually.

Everyone played better in Round 1, I thought we were very unlucky to lose against GWS. But I don't think they've played well in the last couple of games, and they're not alone.

1958 - 1990 were lean years.

Clarry an interesting one, racked up 30+ disposals in the last 2 games without really imposing himself on the game.

Hoping they both have blinders tonight

This is the path we continue on.

There are also very good players outside the top 10 draft picks, you just have to be good at selecting or finding them.

This year add Kalani and a couple of talented NGA boys and draft well with the picks we have and you are on the right track to success.

Collingwood gave up their future to get Schultz and Houston. Schultz has been very average, not worth the first round pick they gave up.

McStay has spent more time in rehab than playing (22 of possible 73 games since he got to Collingwood).

Way to early to make a call on Perryman and Membrey.

They were average last year and their 3-1 record this year has been far from impressive.

I think our midfield across Rds 2 and 3 played like the 2018 midfield. All one way traffic, little two way running, but would still win their possessions at the coalface.
