Would it be too cruel to say there's always a mirror handy for him?

(Just riffin' on the vibe here)

she's not just his wife she's the ceo of his company

of course she's going to be with him to evaluate what the clubs are saying to him, as what they say to her will be just as important

His brand is completely separate to what he will bring to the team on field and even off field..

You honestly think Hardwick gives a [censored] about Petraccas cooking brand lol..

Hardwick wants a premiership and thats exactly why he and the leadership group are meeting up with him. Bella does not/shouldn't be included in those discussions at all. That's between the player and the coach.

Plenty of marquee players have side businesses and brands and yet none of them are taking there business partners to speak to other clubs.

Its cringeworthy.

Genuinely bizarre and something i have never seen before from any other player previously. Even Chris Judd back in the day when he was talking to clubs down in Melbourne, not once did he ever have Rebecca Twiggley hanging up his arm whilst he was getting interviewed.

Strange..

Possibly the 'man' isn't carting 'the woman' around with him. Possibly man and woman consider themselves to be 'one'.

Where in the article you quoted (above) does it say Tracc likes the term Brand Petracca? Coz all I’m seeing is yet another media person using that term (despite Tracc hating it) because he’s/she’s free to bandy it about.

happy wife, happy life

Great player at his peak and still entitled to elite status even though the best is past.

But he has definitely had a destabilising influence on the club over the past two seasons, mostly through his own attitude. Even if he does have some legitimate complaints, these should have been sorted out long ago.

With a long-term contract in place, Melbourne are in a strong poisition to force an excellent trade deal.

Please, please, Mr Guerra, don't just roll over and accept any B-graders on offer, or picks that will be useless as the Devils take huge chunks of talent at the 2026 draft.

Play hard-ball and make sure the club are the winners in any deal.

Spelling error.

Tracc simply isn't a leader. After 200 games this bloke was meant to take over the reigns from Gawn after Brayshaw retired. Instead of leading the MFC into a new dawn, he is doing everything in his power to cut and run. It's a real weak individual who criticises the club and culture and yet does nothing to improve it. Like many, I believe this club is like the Collingwood of 21' it just needs a few fresh troops and a new game plan to take us back to the top and it disappoints me that Tracc doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to have a crack and lead the way. Very poor choice Christian... I thought you were better than that.

One wonders how does he walk back into the club if the deal isn’t done?

If it’s GC at least Hardwick and him have something in common they both said BS to their respective clubs before they left

That last bit that we have been pushing him out, if in fact he said it, is pathetic.

How refreshing it is to see someone actually entertaining the possibility that Tracc never even said such a thing. Makes a nice change from the majority on here who are ready to hang him based on something Tom Morris wrote. Mind you, Morris didn’t say that Tracc said we’re pushing him out, Morris said that Tracc feels we’re pushing him out. How he knows how Tracc feels about anything is a mystery, to me anyways.

Yep. Brave New World of player recruitment. Listen to Ross Lyons bnf speech. Spoke about how one of the reasons they lost Josh Battle is they didn't have a creche.

Interesting word choice.

Top 20 in the league for contested possessions still this year. Same as amount as Lachie Neale and Isaac Heeney... More than players like Butters, Clarry, Jordan Dawson, Holmes, Taranto, Davis-Uniake, Brayshaw etc. 7th in the league for centre clearances too despite spending some time forward.

Slag him off all you want, but facts disprove the narrative around him shirking hard ball this year. He's still an elite contested midfielder, and that's why clubs are still interested in him.

The talk on Humphries coming back. I know we were interested at one point, but that is a really hard sell IMV … the belief at GCS will be really high after this year and it would be hard to want to leave. I suppose we’d have some selling points like bigger crowds playing at the G etc. but we toss these names up thinking it’ll magically happen. Now he may be open to it but but I think highly unlikely.

I’d say we still push for Flanders and 6 and give them a 2nd rounder.

I basically don’t accept anything in trade week as gospel until proved or it happens.

Accusations are easy, retractions harder.

I think Trac is the talent and his missus the brains of the operation. Hence why she's travelling with him.

Hope he loves it there and GC love him.

I'd rather a fair trade than CP5 stay at this point.

Surely it comes down to who gives us the best deal! No super deal then we keep him.. Simple as that!

I don’t think it’s possible to have a very public tour of the country checking out a number of clubs and then return to us because a deal can’t be done. We will all know he is back because he can’t find anything better. I don’t want someone at the club that views us as second choice. We have our pride if nothing else.

I think we should be firm that we are dealing with GC. Hopefully we can persuade Trac that they are the best suitor for him and us because the crows don’t have the capital to satisfy us. Plus they are aholes anyways and wouldn’t be reasonable even if they they did have the capital.

You think he might not like the company of his wife. A long time on flights.. The amount of time actually touring facilities and/or yakking to ppl specifically about offers would be minimal compared to travel time etc.

Hell,, it ain't all work on these junkets 😉

Time to take in a nice restaurant or this or that.

I don't see the big deal personally.

Don't you like your wife or something Daz ? 🤣🤣

Or quite possibly, let's be honest, the man isn't really calling the shots he is being "handled" and I reckon if anything like that was going on the other boys in the club would have gotten pretty jack of it pretty quickly. Something has happened to make him want to move, and it could very well be something to do with this whole dynamic that's going on.

I hope he has to walk back in to the club with egg on his face and they all kick him in the bum as he walks past the whole team.

Get over yourself Trac, don't be such a sook and just play your part. Not all about you mate.

PS. Don't trust anything the journos say they are lying scum.

Definitely something to this... how much weight.. no real idea. But it does fit in with the whole "brand persona" .

Look i really dont care if this is him or not. My evaluation of players is really only that which they bring to the team, our game , dynamics, synergy etc. I already can cook so he's really not that interesting to me other than footy.

Canada is often described as 9 Provinces ...and Quebec.

Melbourne.... a team of players and Tracc.

You either get it or not.

Dusty spent considerable time with gw$ before deciding to stick with the tigs

Four years later he had three premierships and norm smith medals

If he a deal can’t get done then he returns to the MFC

I understand the comparison but for mine they're different animals.

I would be absolutely gobsmacked if Tracc ever played for us again.

He hasn't ventured on his "Aussie Tour" to just look... he's out and about to BUY .

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
