Not going to be a walkover for sure.

It was great to see Oliver and Tracc hit their strides last week given what's been going on with them both.

But our forward line showed the biggest area of concern.

I'm buoyed by the glimpses of brilliance by young Jefferson but it's only one game.

Fritta and Jvr will both have to pull out their respective fingers in order for us to kick a winning score.

I believe Turner has been included because of the concern over the previous two mentioned.

They both had average seasons last year by their own standards so there is reason to worry it may continue. Last week certainly didn't help this anxiety.

I think Sparrow fwd is a good idea because he has never excelled as a mid.  Shame we can't afford to swing Tracc through the fwd line a lot. It's bad enough we may have to use Jvr in the middle again.

So given such a continued iffy fwd line this game is going to be tougher than we would like.

As our all games this year for the same reason.  And imagine if one of our fwds went down. Sheesh.

Dees by 21 with a late flurry of majors .

Surely it'll be SparGod as sub after such a long lay off

Makes a lot of sense. Could see us subbing out someone like Jeffo later in the game to go smaller.

I am on the Train from Berwick, stacks of Norfs, not too many Dees supporters🤪

Probably not,  but given KP was missed  so much and Nibbler gone, I really, really hope not.

Need as much goal scorer power as we can get and as mentioned above it's not Jvr and Fritta.

Plus Chandler is no consistent goal kicker.

We have a one gamer in Jeffo and an unproven Disco. So it's a full four quarters from this poster. Definitely.

Beautiful night last night and the roof was closed. It was one big communal sauna. Had to go outside at the breaks coz it’s nice to be able to breathe unlabored. 🥵

Anyhoo that was last night. Today is a new day but yeah, the roof will still be closed 😅

We’ll be in aisle 1. Anyone with GA tickets please come and sit in aisles 2 & 3 so as to create a sea of red and blue. ❤️💙

The mighty Dees by Ricky Mentha III (39)!

Thanks Gosty.  Your info is much better than the generic fluff on the club's website.

Really starting to despise going to watch the AFL these days for the way they treat the average punter.  I'm only getting GA tickets to the footy, bar finals, but despite the fact the ground will be half full, I've got a sinking feeling today going in that there will be so few GA seats available that it will be an ordeal to find somewhere to sit.

The info on the club's 'Match Day Info' Page for today:

Patrons with General Admission tickets can sit in any of the designated General Admission areas. These seats are on a ‘first-come, best dressed’ basis and are not reserved.

General Admission bays are confirmed the week of the match, with specific information posted on event pages and our social media platforms the morning of the match.

If you are unsure upon arrival at the stadium, please see a customer service staff member or see signage around the stadium.

Useless as the proverbial

P.S. There is no specific info posted on the MFCs FB Page either.

Smoke and mirrors PF.

I've never met one.

Ps I hope your mate Jeffo turns this one upside down.

Taj the sub. Ugh

Who did you expect to he sub.

Can play multiple positions: wing, half back, defensive forward - Woey makes perfect sense to be sub.

I can't shake the worry that playing so many games as a sub can have undesirable effects on a kid's progress and confidence.

Fingers crossed that he gets to leave a memorable mark when he does come on.

Would rather him than Sharp as someone with that much run is wasted as sub, but I also think Woey deserves more of a crack than 15 - 20min gametime.  Quite happy that he'll contribute when he get's on though.

Woewodin as the direct replacement for Windsor won’t be the sub.

For a man whose posts I read intently, this one didn’t age well Dz

I think he runs & carries the ball well & is a beautiful kick. He deserves to play out a full game.

On the tram to Docklands. It stinks. I hate people.

I’m a wee bit nervous about today. I hope the boys are switched on. 🤞

This is the day our young tall forwards need to introduce themselves to the league. Norf have nothing in the backline. Roo, Disco, Jeffo - over to you

Same. I know max loves playing at marvel as much as he loves playing at Geelong

A good win & no injuries will be good

Looks like there’s about 8,000 here today and half of them are on the ground forming guards of honour.

I still remember last year a Melbourne fan yelling out to jy simplin you're the worst captain in the afl & no one knows who you are.

A bit harsh but also amusing

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
