Where did the players find the time for a Triathlon, they are looking super fit and invigorated, reminds me when Burges came to the Dees.

Thank you for all the great reports during 2024. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. I am sure that I will see you at Ghoshs Paddock in 2025.

Be interesting to see the quantum of turnovers over at Brisbane, Geelong and Collingwood's training this week, as a few examples.

If they're far more crisp than we are, then we should probably be a little concerned.

You'd have to expect some sloppy skills pre Christmas.

You raise an interesting question, primarily about whether other clubs have track watchers who post on their social media pages. I looked at several clubs, including the three you named, and I could not find any supporter forums similar to Demonland, let alone track watchers covering training. There is very little out there.

It appears we are unique and blessed to have a platform like this and how it is set up, where information can be shared so readily.

Probably not an overly good thing to be talking about an 18 year olds body, but my god, Langford is ready to go.

I hear ya, DD. 😅

First session back, before the boys came over from the rooms, I chose my words carefully when I asked Goody if he’s happy with the players’ fitness and shape etc. I didn't wanna come off as creepy. Goody did nothing to help the cause. When the boys were in the tent (many of them topless) getting ready to hit the park, Goody says, “Have you seen the boys?! They look amazing, don’t they?!  Have a look at their bodies!” 😅

and has already been reported by other posters turnovers were more pronounced this session compared to others

Isn’t there a positive to be taken from these turnovers, in that the players applying the pressure that leads to said turnovers, are doing their job extremely well?

So, what we have are players learning what is required to retain possession of the ball or successfully get it to (or be in position to receive it from) a teammate, while at the same time, we have players applying the kind of pressure that is required to create turnovers.

(maybe I’m just a guy whose glass is overflowing, because I was too busy looking at the tap and not at the glass.)

Shouldn’t that have happy faces? Or are they that much of a handful?😉

off topic, but with a profile name of ‘djr’, could you possibly be the drone operator at training? (don’t mind me, I have far too much time on my hands, and I love a bit of intrigue)

The sad faces are for them, not me. 😅

They love when I devote so much time to my footy “sons” coz it means they cruise under my radar. 😅

Seriously, I have an incredibly close relationship with my sons. They don’t get into footy at all (hipsters, the three of them) but they love footy because it makes me happy.

Apparently training resumes Thursday 9th Jan at Slithera Central🤯🥳🥴😱😎

PF, do you know if this will be open or closed to track watchers?

It sure does. The surface will be ready by then.

It will be closed. Track-watchers can attend but can only watch from behind the fence.

Does anyone own a drone?

Wait for the HS headline “Discontent at Demons as skipper fails to train as he contemplates move to Collingwood.” 🙄

Sounds way too easy. We will surely kick 30 goals every week.

Not even McAdam?

The guy (Langford) is barely into his first AFL preseason

Yes !

I can imagine the talk at the dinner table.Hey Mum , what did you do today?Don't tell us you went to footy training ? Again.!
Of course l did !
Let me tell you all about it!

 Half an hour later….

I’d barely finish the sentence “Let me tell you all about it” and they’d be out the door. 😄

They humour me when I get home from a nail-biting win for example, but listening to training stories is a bridge too far.

I didn't make it either - was still a bit worried that 40 minutes on a train would be a bit long for my guts to deal with... Then I got in a car and drove to Albury so go figure.

Pity you weren't there because you would've had a Demonland exclusive regarding Max.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
