What does that mean?

Just observations. Nothing to worry about.

Yes, they were. That said, Tracc's an interesting one.

At times I thought he (CP5) didn't look happy, then he'd crack a smile.  I wasn't there from the start.

PS. Was Mentha there? He may have been the different body shape attributed to Kozzie.

Yes, Mentha was there with no number on his back. Did you manage to get down to training? If so, what were your thoughts on some of the training drills?

I arrived late, only saw a few minutes of the drills, they looked sharp.

That is my thoughts about them as well.

The 1 to 4 yrs were setting high standards. The application of basics had been emphasised.

Makes it easier for the oldies to slot into, and improve us.

There's something off with Trac at the moment. I watched him closely this morning, he's not acting his usual self out on the track. It's like he's trying to be super professional but trying not to enjoy himself or buy in, that's the vibe I'm getting. Also have a look at his post on IG from last pre season compared to now. He refuses to acknowledge the club or any team mates in any social media.

Not enough eyes on the brand up in Mansfield

Just went to his insta to check.

Since the Kings birthday incident the only Melbourne related post is the mater-of-fact statement declaring his commitment.

Literally the only other posts since then are a couple pre injury and couple from the grand final.

His latest posts are advertisements, him being professional on a footbal field distinctly sans ANY demons branded gear.

He certainly, at least from a branding perspective, is distancing himself from Melbourne very concciously.

This is a watch this space scenario.

Edit - I'd also like to add that it is well known that his socials are very carefully managed and curated. Lack of MFC branding is absolutely deliberate.

Apparently he has several insta accounts.  Which one(s) were you looking at.

Have there been many posts since the KB game.

Yes, I had a similar thought watching him today.

Any other observations about training or a training report for us?

Ben Simmons jumped in on Trac’s Inst post today to swat away some filth bogan trying to claim him as a pie. Good on ya Ben.

Says it all.

I sense a subtle/carefully planned petulance to Christian’s approach at the moment.

He is acknowledging his love for footy and ticking the boxes as an athlete (early back to training) but not outwardly making the effort we’d all hoped to mend the club/culture problems he so publically surfaced.

He’s a big boy and he can do what he wants but I hope he understands how that might impact some of the younger and fringe players in the side that are so grateful for their opportunity at the club and with each other.

It is probably why he never really progressed as a recognised leader at the club at any stage of his career.

I watched Tracc at the last Gosch's training, not closely. Appeared fine to me once he got over a bit of anxiety. My guess about the observations from Mansfield is that he is keeping a low profile. He is an emotional person, and maintaining an outward aloofness will keep those emotions in check.

What do those reading a disturbance in him want from him?

It really is about how he relates with the other players. He probably has a few relationships to build on and up. To suggest his body language is telling of a disengaged person, with all that he has to mend and deal with, is just speculative and rumour mongering.

He’s was probably on trac to becoming our next skipper the way he was traveling pre KB.

But fwiw, & I’ve said for years now, i think our next skipper will be Jakey Lever.

@Demonland Can I please put in a request for the return of the Facepalm emoticon 😉

We are going to drive him out of the club aren’t we? We are going to self-fulfil this prophecy…

Petulance begets petulance.

And what do you guys think the above is?

Its embarrassing that some 'fans' are making quite derogatory and somewhat outlandish comments based on their 'vibe', 'sense' 'Trac not looking happy' or interpretations of social media.

Nothing objective, yet continuing the vilification ... 'subconscious bias' perhaps.

There are probably many explanations for his “perceived” behaviour. One is that people are seeing things that just aren’t there. A second is that it’s the other players that are acting cool towards Trac - perhaps they haven’t forgiven him completely yet.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
