The group of 3 of Fritsch, Fullarton and Johnson are working with Matty Whelan on a tackling technique drill.

Matty would be either pleased or disappointed...that is Choco doing the drill...could tell by him telling Aidan Johnson after he showed him something a couple of times 'slow learner, but you got there'

Jesus... 😳

Sharp, Tholstrup and Fullerton just completed what looked like a 1500 or 2k run. Sharp lead but Tholstrup was with him all the way. Sharp by 5 mts in the end. Fullarton 30 Mtrs  back. On that note, I’m off to parking meter… more when I get home!

Who is Petracca sponsored by for todays training session? 😏

Thanks everyone for these training reports, they are sensational!

Clarry has come off the track and taken his boot off and is applying something to what appears to be a blister.

Media headlines follow: 'Oliver with major foot injury, unhappy with treatment.'

Bit off buzz in the forum today!

Great reading - thanks everyone!

One more bit from GW:

Salo is sure he'll be right for well before round 1. He had knee surgery and his recovery is coming along really nicely.

Despite the oppressive heat, the session isn't shortened, nor is it tempered at all. They are going HARD.

Early scoop from The Ghostwriter:

Hey Katnip,

Some early info…

It’s bloody hot already. It’s only 9am and Vines is running laps, he has to leave training early for a family function. The new boys will be here this morning but not participating in training per se.

According to Goody we will “high likely”be picking up Ricky Mentha tonight

As you know, Kat, despite being described as “… an athletic brute who imposes himself on the contest” Aidan’s nickname is Peaches.

The new boys will be going to the Mansfield camp.

JT is looking pretty damn happy with himself… And so he should.

More to come.

Gotta love Ghostwriter ....

Fullarton back to training too? All happening at Goschs.

Our Casey forward line suddenly looks stacked with Kentfield, Johnson, Fullarton, Jefferson, and Verrall (when Campbell is in the ruck) 😂

I hope you haven't misconstrued the situation. These guys are aiming to play at the highest level. Someone even mentioned that Johnson is at the club to be a filler at Casey. Make no mistake, the selectors were doing their job last night. They might have picked him at 68 but their intention was to get him to a standard where he has a regular role at Melbourne.

In fairness to me I was a fair way away and not wearing my current prescription sunglasses. 😬

I attended some of the training. I spoke to the Ghost Writer who was in fine form. It was good to see Trac training, and looked in good spirits. Aiden Johnson is a big solid unit. Langford will be big in a few years. I was pleased to see the forwards coach giving instructions during drills. It was good to see Brad Green at training.

Haven’t misconstrued anything? Maybe you just misinterpreted my post lol

I’m confident in a few of those guys to become regulars at AFL absolutely.

reading back how worded it I can see how it’s been interpreted, I just meant suddenly we have a plethora of key position options all fighting for 3 spots.

Am not, have not and will not ever question our recruiting department.

Langford is already asserting himself in the close-in handball/tackle group. Just got tackled by Trac, also showed a nice side-step. Then he and Tholstrup got hold of a rampaging Trac and refused to give an inch

The other drill is a one on one hand balling keeping’s off drill with tackling. Langford just laid a ferocious tackle on Kolt to the cheers of all the players. We’ve got another good one here.

Great to hear Langford already showing he'll settle in fine. We've definitely got another gun there. So excited by what he could become. He said in an interview the other day he tries to play like Petracca, and he could become a gun mid/forward like Trac with time.

Thanks to all the track watchers today! Awesome stuff!

Yes, I'm happy to agree. Everything Johnson did at his first hit-out read, "I'm not here to make up the numbers at Casey"

*this was not a shot at those players saying they won’t make it. far from it.*

From previous posts all throughout this seasons I’m one of Jeffo’s biggest fans.

My point purely was that we suddenly have plenty of options underneath the so called first choice of Roo/Fritta/Disco/Petty*

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
