Pick 5: Langford (Marking, Goal Kicker, Endurance, IQ, Penetrating kick) or Jagga (Evasive, Agile, Consistent, Ball winner, gut running, accumulator) both would be great options in my opinion and would add a lot to the midfield.

Pick 9: I think doubling down on either speed or exquisite ball use is the right play and there are a few players who fit this mould including Lindsay, Travaglia, Reid, Allan.

The other option is sliding down the order to the giants teen picks and picking up the powerful forward/mid Cooper Hynes to pair with his best mate Langford. I'd look at drafting one of the above mentioned players who potentially slides to pair with him or Joe Berry, Taj Hotton, Oli Hannaford. 

Tauru is the wildcard and I would absolutely love him to slide to pick 9. Our key back stocks are starting to be very weak as May is getting on, Lever is almost 29, this will be Tmac's last year, Tomlinson is delisted, Joel Smith is banned and Petty and Turner who you would've expected to fill those spots have been swung forward. It makes sense to look to the future.

Best case scenario Langford and Tauru

There is only 2 clubs that are in a position for us to trade back with. Richmond and GWS. GWS is the only real option as Richmond would be foolish to trade.

Pick 5 would be happy with Smith or Langford . Looks like the most likely to get to our pick . At pick 9 I’m all in for Bo Allan , we missed Gus’s versatility this year and think Bo could play that role. On any given day he could play HB - in the middle or on a wing . He is big and fast , breaks lines and has good leadership potential. 
 

Watching Reid’s highlights I dispute the call that he is slow. He’s not lightning but I dont see his outside running being of concern offensively or defensively.

The most interesting thing with this update is reading where we are mentioned as linked to players. All the obvious ones would “come into our consideration” at 5. However good to see us mentioned as having Allan and Travaglia linked to our considerations for 9. Armstrong and Reid also mentioned.

Bit of info in that for us. Unless we haven kept our cards very close to our chest the amount of players we are interested in at pick 9 is fairly small. Tauru, Travagila,Reid, Allen and Armstrong

I think either of Travaglia, Reid or Allan would be good selections for us.

I wasn't initially a Reid fan but he's grown on me of late.

I’d be keener for Trav or Allan. Not a knock on Reid but I would like someone that would compliment pick 5 a bit better. Apart from Tauru all our pick 5 prospects are likely to play forward of the ball. I’d like our pick 9 to be able to play defence. 
Interesting he didn’t rule out Labor being available at 5.

Yeah I think athletically Travaglia and Allan would be best fits ahead of Reid.

Cal’s latest form guide mentioned GWS are interested in Travagila. Very unlikely he gets to their pick so they would have to trade up if they want him. 

I'm warming to Travaglia at 9, think he offers the most versatility. Still hot on Lindsay but it looks like a bit of a reach at 9?

And if it is an issue, his IQ and speed of decision making more than makes up for it. 

Smartest brain in the draft for me.

You mean the club that wouldn’t trade WD to us and we would drop 7 picks to get the next one as well, given everything we gave up to get 9?

I don’t see that happening.

The only swap I can envisage is a very small one with a bonus pick added that we really want and that looks like Richmond.

Anyway,only another week of this to go.

It’s unlikely we trade I agree. We haven’t been linked to anybody further back in the draft.

They may however jump in front of us if they trade for pick 8 which the Saints have put on the table. Hope not as Caruso is a very good operator and always seems to be targeting same players as us. 

Watching some of those introductions it occurred to me the Smith would make a good replacement for Nibbler with a higher ceiling.

The mail is that JT is a big fan of Hotton and that a knee reco in his draft year wouldn't necessarily be a deterrent.

This being said, I was told we'd draft El Hawli in the mid season.

Cal’s a bit half pregnant with this latest edition: he is too much of a coward to call it a phantom draft yet not a ball has been kicked between his last release and this one… How could a players’ ‘ranking’ change with zero games of footy?

I’ve often thought the same and as everyone knows I’m not a huge Jagga fan but he does have a fraction more pace and maybe more importantly more of a strength to win the footy and escape in tight without getting pushed around. With a decent amount of confidence you can say he’ll be a pretty solid midfielder.

I love Reid’s hands and his vision, they are special attributes. But if he doesn’t flash the natural strength and physicality to play as a mid he’s a one paced small forward. It all becomes a bit Gyran like. Mind you, if you said the following percentages are how his career players out: 20% Bill Laurie, 40% Gryan, 20% Josh Daicos and 20% Sam Mitchell how high would you take him?
