in 2025, at least 11 will still be on afl lists, and it was 14 in 2024, with at least seven i would consider 'best squad' for the teams that they were on

Of the 2022 team, 5/6 Casey listed premiership players are gone from the club, and 3/4 Casey listed emergencies are gone.  Only Valentine and Bell remain and they hardly played in ‘24.  

Ex Casey 2022 premiership player Corey Ellison is leaving Williamstown after two years and going to Frankston. 

The lights at Frankston have enabled  night games for TV coverage and extra revenue.  So they've gone from cellar dwellers to destination club.

Bottom 4 club next year who wants to come to a snake infested, shizzen area in Cranbourne??

Boy that’s a gloomy picture but realistically our Casey VFL needs a good shake up, we got nothing out of our two star mids that failed to play a game for us this year due to injury. We need to go after more of the kids that miss the draft but are desperate for that extra opportunity, we will miss Mitch.

We have to start poaching players from the VFL like Frankston have done we only need to get 3 or 4 and we will be set.

There's your answer. Deakyn probably captain. Good get, should provide a lot of leadership off half back.

With so many seasoned players moving on, Casey will need more than Deakyn Smith if they want to be competitive in 2025.

If Casey is half serious about being an actual club, then need to get attract players like Jai Culley if he’s not put on an AFL list by another club.  Definitely has AFL quality still and would command a game every week despite AFL listed players.

And yet Frankston and Casey grounds are about the same travel time as each other from the city, and Casey has much better facilities for players including extra grounds to train on and an indoor kicking area.

Yeah but Frankston will pay about ten Bucks a game Casey about $9.50

Jack Bell has committed to Old Haileybury in VAFA 2025 A grade for next year as a full-time player. Not sure if Casey offerred him another year or if he said “I’m out”.  He was good in 2022 and 2023 with 30 games across the 2 years. But only 5 games in 2024 and used in limited minutes only.

And if he only had limited time in 2024, then it wouldn’t have been any better for him in 2025 with Tom Campbell on the MFC list.

Another departure from the Casey ship.  Mitch Szybkowski is leaving Casey and will join the GWS VFL program in 2025.  He showed promise in his 12 games for Casey Demons in 2024.

One good sign is the fact that two of Casey’s “big name” recruits who were injured early in the season — Leo Connolly and Campbell Hustwaite — remain on the list. It would be a bonus if they were actually retained because Casey badly needs some experienced playing depth to be competitive in 2025.

Both returned to local level full time.
