Josh Gabelich who's across everything confirmed that we've met with Owies. But so have a number of clubs including Brisbane.

Is understood to be poor defensively which is why Carlton aren't in a hurry to re-sign him.

Maybe Pickett’s asked for a trade to Freo

wait... are you saying that bedford is better than chandler, pickett, and spargo?

mcadam i could understand, sure, but not the latter three

There is not much in ability between Bedford and Chandler but Bedford is a more  standard type half forward and has wider skills and can tag.
Chandler is stronger and tackles and competes harder but is not as skilful as Toby.

Spargo is better than either but Kossie is easily the best but if more time is put in with him he could go to another level I believe.

No I don’t think so we are in need of another half forward who can kick 30 goals plus per season.

Plus Spargo should return this year and I suppose we can always hope with McAdam.

Yeah he kicked 33 goals this season but that was it. He’s a one trick pony who has no other positive attributes as a footy player.

At least he can kick goals and they win Matches plus I have noticed that over 66 years of watching footy and the Dees.

Watching those highlights he looks very handy, I reckon he'd be a great addition.  Let's go get him!

Way better prospect than Caleb Daniel.

No Daniel is more versatile and is courageous and very competitive plus would kick goals if played up forward.

Can play wing and half back/pocket also. Would be in our best 23 if Bowey does not go to another level like at the start of his career.

daniel is also rumoured to be owed more than a $1.5m over the next two seasons under a heavily back-ended contract

owies is likely to be on average wage, so probably close to $350k a year

bedford doesn't play as a half-forward any more really - he's a midfield tagger first and foremost; he certainly doesn't impact the scoreboard anything like as much as he used to do when he was more of a half-forward

he was also in / out of the gw$ side before 'settling' into this position at which he has excelled

Spargo is a hack, and was playing for Casey last year. If he wasn't contracted, he'd be delisted. I haven't given up on McAdam.

At least Owies can impact the scoreboard.

Well he has got an opportunity to return to form and see if he can play any better in 2025. He may surprise but we need goals from our half forwards.

Spargo isn't going to kick many goals. His highest was 18 in 2021, since then that numbers gone down and accuracy has always been iffy.

Charlie's best position is as a hard running high HF where he can be link up player. There's an opportunity for him in this role now that ANB has left which I'd like him to push for. His strength has always been his vision, ball use going inside 50 and pressure/tackling.

Hopefully a fit Spargo can push to get back into best 22 this year. The club obviously still rates him highly as they brought him in for opening round round this season even though he was underdone. (wrongly it turns out) But still.

Spargo averages 11 possessions, 2 tackles and .64 goals a game over his 98 game career. Spargo is none of the things you describe above.

Fair enough I guess your detailed stats say it all. Poor kick inside 50, doesn't kick goals (agreed and mentioned) and can't tackle or provide pressure.

Would rather the Demons pursue Jacob Konstanty.

He was drafted by the Swans but hasn't been offered a new contract.

Was highly rated in his draft year only a few years ago.

Here is his highlights video shown below:

I remember him from that draft but it is difficult to be seduced by a young kid who can’t earn his second contract at the club he has been with for the last 2 years… I’m not a huge Owies fan but at least the guy has kicked 60 goals at AFL level over the past two seasons

Was talking about Owies to my cousins last night (fellow 'Baggers) and they were saying we might be exploring someone like Papley, yes he is a better forward and all round player but Papley has not stood up when it really counts, in a grand final!

Despite some of his limitations Owies does actually kick goals regularly, consistently (which I quite like in a forward, lol). Reckon if he was in a grand final he could kick a couple and not go missing like some Swans "stars".

We are hoping he stays in Navy Blue. Just give him another $100K and be done with it, he wants to remain in Navy Blue.

If he does goes to the Dees, hope he kicks even more than this season to stick it to those at Princes Park that opened the door for him on the way out 😁

2024 Player Reviews: #22 Blake Howes

After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. 2024 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. SLIP SLIDING AWAY by Meggs

It was a sweaty, slippery night at Cazalys Stadium, a tough slog with low scoring and missed opportunities.  The Hokball Hawks hung on to win by a goal and sit second on the ladder, relegating the disappointed Demons to, almost certainly, finals spectators.   We had to win this match. When news broke of late withdrawals of talisman Kate Hore and key back Gaby Colvin, expectations plummeted, and Demon fans despaired.  The bad news was the signature song of 2024, a season that’s

THE HEAT IS ON by Meggs

FNQ will be hot and sultry this Thursday night when the mighty Demons take on the highflying Hawks at up there Cazalys Stadium in Cairns.   The Demons once again rebrand for Indigenous Round as ‘Narrm’, the Woi Wurrung name for Melbourne in the language of the traditional owners.   Narrm has surged back up the ladder and sits just outside the eight on percentage with 5 wins. Our opponents Hawthorn sit second with 8 wins and have been become really offensive.
