sheezel + wardlaw + the picks they used to trade up to duursma

not bad

Sheezel is an absolute gun, and unlike JHF also a leader

Nope, they’re out to catch Fremantle. All they have to do is beat us and Fremantle lose to Port and they pass them. They also need Carlton to lose both too but with their current injury list that seems likely right now.

Does this mean we barrack for the Blues? I reckon there best chance is against the Eagles. Saints will beat them with this list.
Frro are 50/50 against Port, which will be aiming 2nd spot and a home final.

That’s not how I am seeing it. Freo are on 50, Pies are on 48 with a game to play. Am I reading the ladder wrong?

flagmantle a chance of dropping out with both baggers and dingley to make it

both have two to play and are on 48 with significantly better % than the filth

they both win one of their two remaining games - with the latter likely to win both against the teams bottom of the ladder given their red hot form, while baggers should be capable of beating one of meth coke or the aints - and they jump to 52 with better % than filth can likely climb to unless they beat us by 100+ with us scoring less than 42 points or something like that

i can't see filth making it

better beat em anyway just to be on the safe side

Yeah, ok.

Forgot who they were.

Big day.

Anyone think we could get one or the other?

Nibbler played well today.
I think he’ll play really well next week as well.

We should pick our targets during the showdown.

Anyone else watching it with a glass of red?

Not if it means the filth get in though.

No i'd rather see the Pies in and get smacked.  They're not making it from outside the top four.

Flagmantle are fast and slick with hands but if you get them into a contest, they're mostly a bunch of bruise free pretenders

Edited by Demon Dynasty

I know we have been [censored] but the Crows with their list should be embarrassed at bottom 4

The Cats have stopped.  BIG if but if the Aints can keep up the manic attack they'll win this by 3 or 4

Have you seen Carlton’s injury list?

They’re no certainty to win again. That’s why the door is open.

Dan Houston will not play a final this year. At least 4 weeks for that, should be 6

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
