Now maybe the football media can start asking some questions about how the pies, the team every journ seemed to think was miles ahead of every other team last year, and set for a dynasty, missed  the finals this year.

Drinking their own bathwater?

Culture issue?

And perhaps ask why they allowed pednles to play with broken ribs foe two weeks

Maybe an article about why noble has requested a trade?

What about their list management - a third of their best 22 are 30 or over.

Perhpas Whately's sanctimony bazooka can be turned on them.

Yeah   Nahhh

Won't happen...

What a roller-coaster.

Better than the best week of soap opera TV in history.

I appreciate Trac putting an end to this before my birthday. Very considerate of him.

The good news, and I mean this sincerely, is that the the tracc drama is done well before the seasons end.

Come the end of the finals it's  yesterday's news.

Just in time for wada to drop their findings.....

If you think this has not harmed our brand and the perception people have of our club, you’re an absolute fool and you don’t understand anything about the importance of brand management.

Anytime your club is in the news for failing to manage a star player, whether true or not, it is damaging. It creates a perception that we are poorly run and have a poor culture.

Bury your head in the sand all you like, but the bottom line is, this club has been in the news for all the wrong reasons over the past 12 months and that is not good for sponsors, membership numbers or attracting players from other clubs.

There's only one fool here pal. Show me the evidence that the club has managed him incorrectly.  You have none. Clubs can't control the fickle media. Nor should always jump to their diatribe.  Let's see shall we? Speak to me in 12 months hence when we will be playing  finals, new players will have arrived at the club, membership is up and sponsorship remains. I'm willing to make a sizeable wager on all of that. Are you? Rhetorical question.

Are you trying to justify all the posts where you slagged off Trac?

There's been many a player who's been dissatisfied with their club, but ended up staying. And I fully support Trac for raising his concerns.

Nobody denies that there are issues at the club, but directing insults at Trac doesn't change anything.

The point I’m making, which you’ve completely missed in your ramblings, is that the truth doesn’t matter only perception matters.

I said plenty of times before that we have no more or no less issues than any other club. What we do have, is an inability to control the narrative.
It is damaging to be in the news constantly for all the wrong reasons.

I too believe we can bounce back next year, but we have work to do in all areas to get there and that includes our comms. Don’t believe me? Listen to Gawn discuss this very issue yesterday.

Yep.

Next year is a still big watch for me. Only takes for Collingwood to have their 1st rounder in place and then who knows.

This isn't over.

Agree. But Pies first-rounder could be not much better than 18 - 20, and even with two years of future firsts hard to see how that gets done.

But the other variables are:

- Trac getting back to his very best after the injury from hell. Not so sure.

- He'll be going on 30 at the end of next season. Not the kind of age where you can build a team around him for 5 years. When Judd moved to Carlton he'd just turned 25.

- That contract. Long and expensive for someone getting into the later stage of his career.

Yeah I’m with you. Damage is done. I don’t think he’ll be with us in 2026, but by then Pies will have picks for us to use. I think we start an offical death ride Pies thread. Top 5 pick is luming.

Oh,so our friend has slagged off Trac? It's hard to keep up. What a surprise.  Laughable that he is the self proclaimed guru of 'Brand Management '. Anyone got stuck into one of the greatest players in the history of the MFC is an absolute disgrace.

I’m trying to justify nothing. Everything I’ve said about Trac trying to promote his brand is 100% correct and my information doesn’t come from the media. I have actual sources because believe it or not, I work in a similar field.

I have 0 issues with Trac raising concerns and never once said I do. I have many issues with his concerns being leaked to the media in an attempt to try to force our hand to trade him.
I have issues with the fact that leaking this info to the media has caused issues within the playing group. I have issues that our club needlessly was dragged through the mud again for issues that needed to be kept in house.

I have only respect for leaders who demand better. I just don’t want them to do it publicly as ultimately it only hurt the club and caused unnecessary distraction.

Every Melbourne supporter should and will be happy that Trac is not leaving.
Equally I think we are entitled to be disappointed with how these last few weeks played out.

It was never necessary for this to spill into the media and become a MFC vs Petracca showdown, where ultimately both our club and his brand were dragged through the mud.

I hope we can move on from this and turn our attention and focus to fixing the problems that need to be fixed.

It didn't 'spill onto the media'. The media spilled into the MFC!

The beauty about this is it now gives us the chance to now focus purely in targeting potential recruits.

I'd be going after James Peatling and Malcolm Rosas first and foremost.

Just gotta love these people🤣🤣🤣" I have actual sources. I work in the field". Side splittingly hilarious! Go on, supply those sources. Of course you can't.Like McClure, Morris etc you have none. Meantime I have a source that says you're a Collingwood plant on these boards. Sorry, can't reveal who that is.😘

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
