You have completely missed my point.

There is nothing wrong with expecting a President to speak on a very important/crisis issue.

What is wrong, is the President speaking like an unprepared smartie and basically making a fool of herself.

I think you've actually missed mine but we'll leave it at that.

Is it just me but I haven’t picked up on the media being overly critical about how the ‘umpire assisted premiers of 2023’ couldn’t even make the finals the year after they ‘won’ the premiership…surprise, surprise.

Don’t want to upset a huge segment of their market audience do we.

Funny that.  Or how one of their players 'actually' wants out. Fractured relationships an poor culture? Dubious leaders of the club? Two sets of rules our beloved media.

And their CEO ‘stepping aside’ after rumours of yet again racism from the top? Not as much as a bleep.

just curious. how is that different from every news source these days?

Sadly, not much. For that reason nowadays I rarely read the papers and watch any ‘football programs’.  (As an aside I totally ignore the commercial tv stations for any news whatsoever, what they churn out and how they churn it out is beyond belief at times)

Back to the footy……don’t get me started on some of our commentators that call the footy games. Wow wee! (and there are some that irk me more than him!)

Perhaps even more sad, this forum is my go to for info on the MFC!! (there is some very informative information to be gleaned , I learn a lot!).

Thank goodness despite all the rule changes, interpretations of rules, quality of umpiring etc, etc in my opinion it is still the best game in the world to watch.  That is why I go to the footy and watch the games ….and GO DEES!

It's not frivolous Redleg, it's factual.

People were screaming the house down here demanding our president talk and what's that gotten them?

You can whinge till the cows come home but if they don't come home don't complain to me.

To be fair though it wasn't the most re-assuring interview.

Ok I'm going to say this one more time because this is starting to turn confrontational with some posters and I'm really not up for analytical bulldust after a 14 hr day.

My comments about liking the interview were tongue in cheek, while I thought some things annoyed me like denying we needed an independent review I wasn't that annoyed with her not being in contact with Trac during ICU. I've listened to a lot of interviews before so I'm not a dumb**** but maybe I'm wrong on that one.

I did not say the interview was perfect, what I said was that people were crying out for the president to say something like they were the lord and saviour, they said the president was never there during the tough times. Guess what, here's a tough time, she stepped up and surprise surprise it wasn't good enough for people. What were you expecting exactly? What is the DL armchair playbook for giving a great interview in a total meltdown situation and in percentages how much better would this be?

When was the last time the president or the CEO spoke and people here unanimously loved it? You can scapegoat the president all you want but even if she gave the best interview ever it wouldn't change anything right now and the fact is we need to hear from one person.

And think twice about lumping me in with the 'head in the sand crowd' that thinks everything is peachy. I've said on numerous occasions that I think we have lost our way and need to check ourselves and that includes the people at the top.

Goodnight now.

For any early risers, I've been covering the night shift from here in Europe. Nothing significant to report so far. You're probably safe to go and put on the kettle and do your morning stretches in preparation for another big day of refreshing.

Then why didn't he say that to begin with? Again, something doesn't add up.

i thought the same at the time.

i had to check twice as it left me thinking that my original understanding that he had to nominate only one person to visit due to the isolation request from Doctors / hospital was not correct and that others were able to come visit if they wanted (you just had to ask!)

Not so and yet almost the entire AFL media circus are happy to overlook this in their scramble to concoct a story and maintain the 'cultural problem' pile on.

Just to clarify. I used the term 'friend' because the Demonland administrators rightly don't want a public pile-on of a particular person close to Trac. Sincere apologies for creating any extra confusion when my sole intent was the opposite, to add an element of accuracy as to what has actually been said on record by various parties in response to a number of wild and sometimes deliberately misleading distortions both on here and in the media.

A long way to go until the end of trade period.

This is all so pointless by Trac because the chance of a viable trade is practically zero. He has the most blame to shoulder for this shambles. And his "brand" advisors.

Perceived or not, the club looks like a basket case. The press are just going to feast on us and our leaders have no plan.

Strap in demonlanders. It's going to be open season on our club for the next few weeks.

Yep, all quiet in the northern low lands too. Passed a few Instagram hotspots today and nary a Tracc in sight

Not directed at you Skuit.  Just some of the scummy media circus who are looking to re-write history to try and concoct their own narrative.

In Tracc's own words (respomdokg to a question about support he received during his traumatic first few weeks)...

"My phone was popping off from everyone, it's just really tough period the first two and a half weeks i literally haven't been able to see anyone (bar Bella who he was able to nominate).

So it's all been, yeh just through text messages, and yeh the support i've received has been incredible, from Roffey (Kate) down.

So, um yeh it's been awesome to kinda be outta this isolation period, you know Gawny came round, which was awesome.

No doubt i'll be back in the club in the next few weeks.  It's been great, it's been tough."

Thanks @Skuit. Possibly need some sort of ‘Trac Anger-o meter’ to get a benchmarked read on his levels of discontent

I'd very much doubt it is all coming from her, that would be naive to think so.

Well....maybe not all her but I could see a situation whereby  'mrs'CP5 + family+ 'influencer figjam type" sporting mates  might poison his sensibilities.

The world is NOT logical ;)

So after yesterday's scandal of footballers out to dinner overheard saying guy acting weird is acting weird I wonder what the fifth estate has in store for us all today?

Damo: “he may want to consider a LeBron James-style broadcast to announce his next club of choice. Imagine the boost, Christian, of those Instagram followers. The NBA icon in 2010 revealed his decision to leave the Cavaliers for the Heat in The Decision, a 75-minute broadcast, with commercials, on ESPN. Ooooh, the tension, as we wait to hear, from 'Brand Petracca' himself, the football reasons as to why he wants out of the Melbourne Football Club.”

Glad to see we’ve started the day by ignoring that’s he’s under contract FOR 5 MORE SEASONS and doesn’t get to dictate where he wants to go…

I think Damo’s being sarcastic here - it appears that the tide has turned against The Brand.

I don’t understand what this means?

You might have to wade back through a few pages of this thread to find it but apparently it was reported that a few of our players had dinner at Marion Wine Bar in Gertrude St on Tuesday night and were overheard by people at the next table to them saying what's up with Trac acting weird.
