I left it out as I didn't think it was that relevant to what has most people dismayed ie the apparent lack of communication with the family while he was in ICU and its aftermath.

I mentioned in another post that I hope our doctors sought feedback from the hospital medicos just to be aware of what was happening.  If they did they would have known he almost died on the operating table and that should have been passed on to our player welfare staff and the Roffey. 

As Andy Maher said, even if there are organisational processes in place a president is within their right to pick up the phone and say:  Here is my number, call me anytime.  Let me know if there is anything I can do. 

 

And so the Petracca saga rumbles on, damaging the club's image and everyone involved in the process.

Look a little deeper into the 2024 season and we find the following:

* Oliver: out of form all year and clearly playing injured by season's end.

* Smith: comment not permitted.

* Trade-in flop of the season: Schache (closely followed by Fullarton and McAdam).

* Performance levels: disastrously down.

* Already gone: Neal-Bullen.

* Departure rumours swirling: Pickett.

But Ms Roffey and the board apparently think all is well at the MFC.

What would a bad year look like then ?

I can't answer to "how many" but I can give personal experience.  I work for an organisation of about 100 people.  On several occasions when I have had issues (death of a family member, health, etc) our CEO has personally contacted me to express concern, sent a gift, that sort of thing.  Maybe that's uncommon.  Now it wasn't the chair of our board.  I have no idea who is even on our board.  We don't have a President so ... who knows ... but someone who is interested in staff and has good support from HR can clearly get the job done.  Dare I say it?  It would have to be part of the Culture.

luci, i'm not sure "he almost died on the operating table" is really accurate.

this is a major operation where there is always a possibility of death

it is also true that without an operation he would bleed out and die

we would need to know the the exact words used and the context

i've had 2 major operations where i could have theoretically died but i never "almost died on the operating table" despite the possibility.

Lots of jumping to conclusions here without the full story. When I listen to the Roffey interview re Petracca I hear someone with their hands tied and not being able to say what she perhaps could. She's presidential enough to know not to say "Christian's being a prima donna".

My overall read is that the club is bending over backwards to not portray Trac as the fill-in-the-dots that he is as it would bury everyone, Trac and the club. In the meantime, the club and its staff become the punching bag.

But we have no idea if she did or didn't. Roffey herself doesn't seem to know what the complaints refer to, but notably made the point that only one person is allowed in the ICU and that the club was out of the immediate loop as to his personal healthcare, which is private by nature - including as to our own club doctors.

There was an article reported in this thread somewhere where the family took a call from the surgeon along those lines.

I think it has been widely reported that he nearly lost his life.

Oliver had a brain fart and was shopped.

Brayshaw was out of the control of the club.

Within the week of Viney being linked to North, he signed a contract (which was months in negotiation, as they all are)

Trac...well, it looks like Captain Petulance wants more IG followers or thinks he should get the same attention as Clarry (or more)...but, again, thats not a known!

I know that this has legs, but I'd question if that's the case in medical terms. Yes, you can die from a ruptured spleen if it's serious enough and you don't get the right medical care. But from all that we know, that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Any one else feel like we are going to get a Foxfooty version of “The Decision” ala Lebron when Trac finally decides to talk.

This is so horrible our club is in free fall and I don’t think there is a way to fix it
