If you have Father sons, you shouldn't be allowed academies.

It’s such a compromised pathway now that it is giving a huge lift to Giants, Swans ,Lions and Suns (Lions and Swans in particular that have full academy players plus father-son availability).

    Cal Twomey said the other day that even with the academy players, it's one of the weakest drafts he can remember.

    with the majority of the draft always coming from victoria, i do wonder how much covid years of 2021-22 in particular had an adverse effect on the last few draft classes

    this year's crop would have all been 14-16 in those key years...and they barely played in that time period due to the global pandemic

    pretty crucial time to miss out on development

    Lots of talent in the Suns and Lions Academy programs. One youngster who should be marked in PEN on JTs list is Harrison Bridge. Left footer half back who starred in early Coates league matches for Lions academy. Averaged 20 possessions, 5 marks and 3 tackles a match across the 4 games played by the young Lions. Kicking is elite at DE80-90% and can kick 50+ easily Unfortunately he got injured early in the under 18s championship in the first game for the allies v SA. Bridge played some QAFL games as well and excelled for Sherwood. AFL Lions probably use most points for Daniel Annable so Bridge might be beyond them at a later pick. One to highly consider.

      Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
