We will certainly be moving undercover where I assume there will be thousands of seats to choose from.

I’ll be undercover too. Under the cover of my poncho that is. 😝 Bring on the rain and cold wind and even hail for good measure… it won’t dampen the mood!

We’ll win tonight and nothing else will matter anyways 👊🏼

But even if we lose there’s a plus side to rain after a loss,  that being everyone’s face is wet so no one can tell if you’re crying. Not that I cry after a loss. Pfft, I’m not that much of a sook.

Anyone planning on entering through Gate 5 take note: this gate won’t be open.

So I take it that free speech is now dead in this country ?

This country never had (nor does it have) a right to "free speech" whatever you think that is.

It does have an implied right to freedom of political communication (ie as Moonshadow said below the government can't lock you for supporting a political party other than their own - that's what freedom of speech actually means).

In this case, regardless of whether he was right, Green broke his employment rules, which is why he was reprimanded.

For what it's worth, I reckon there were ways he could've said similar things about player confusion and dissatisfaction with the MRO without attracting the AFLs penalty. His choice of language was pretty poor.

No, not dead, he won't get fined by the police, but the AFL Commish own the game and they set the rules, of which the players have agreed to and signed off on

For anyone complaining about the cold a young Indian lad who has only been in the country for a month just boarded my train wearing flip flops / thongs on his bare feet.

Saw a bloke today at Crocs Play Centre proudly wearing his Melbourne gear.

I said "how do you reckon we'll do" to which he said he wasn't confident (me either) and "there's no way I'm going".

Typical Melbourne supporters. So many do my head in. Half of them are either "kick it, kick it" types with no idea about the modern game or bandwagoners, the latter have basically been absent this year.

Hi mate, if you post on Demonland. Get along and support your footy team.

Sure he broke the rules. But he is essentially compelled to sign up to if he wants to play.  Not exactly a free choice.  I could imagine litigation about that in a country which did have a right to 'free speech'.

YAY!!! Wise choice, Daniel. You’ll be glad you made the effort. And every voice counts! The one thing we hear more than anything else from the players is that they feed off the noise and it absolutely fires them up.

Seeya there! I’ll be the one in red n blue (cheer squad joke; never not funny, to us anyways).

YEAH THE MIGHTY [censored] DEES!

PS I’ve been here for almost an hour and I’ve seen a grand total of one (ONE) Giants fan. Poor bastard. He dropped his packet of cigarettes in a puddle. I gave him some of mine and told him it’s the least I could do for him since his night is only gonna get worse. As I walked away he said, “You’re the nicest smart@rse I’ve ever met.” 😅

Ah, the ANZAC spirit in full flight. Great to see. Mind you I'm on Kefalonia in the Greek Isles. Balmy 34 degrees at present.

But I'm with you in spirit WCW.

We got 20,000 in round 5 2022 against GWS. A Saturday night game after a 28 degree day. The most perfect night for footy coming off a flag.

It would actually be a surprise if we got 20k tonight.

That was the Easter long weekend though.

You could imagine it, but if you are imagining the USA you'd be wrong. Because "free speech" means that the government can't police your political views. It doesn't stop a private company (your employer) from limiting your speech.

And fwiw he isnt compelled to sign up. As an athlete he could have chosen a range of sports to pursue, and he could choose to be paid to play in other leagues.

And to make it worse, we aren't even talking about the AFL restricting general speech. The critiscm he made were directly of his employer. If you worked at Coles and went on a podcast and gave Coles a spray and your manager a spray and they heard it you'd get fired too.

I'm not sure if we will break 20,000 tonight, the way I see it, we'll get at least 1 minimum - as I'm heading in by myself.

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention.
