Honestly and seriously given all that has happened this year. I CANT SEE HOW ANYONE would want to come to MFC. We are imploding and exploding at the same time!

Can I just add PF thank god that the opposition players don’t read Demonland.🔥🔥

Big fan of this one, this kid would be a great replacement for Brayshaw.  Offer him the Brayshaw $$

I have a bad feeling we'll only end up being able to get the scraps that nobody wants by the end of Trade Week.

Hopefully an open cheque book will entice people.

Better than "winning trade period" like Essendon seem to always do, but don't in the long run!

I have no real knowledge of Brandan Parfitt or whether he is any good or not but he is on the move and fits the age demographic for our needs

(Once again...?) it may as well be me:

Brandan: 'an' upgrade on a Brand.

Brandan Parfitt Darwin boy and a friend of my youngest daughter. Very generous with his congratulatory praise back in ‘21 when we won the flag. My daughter was able reprise that the following season when the Cats took the urn.

Looks a solid player worthy of serious consideration. Given our midfield requires some strengthening and experience.

Parfitt’s name is in the jar.  Wait and see who and what’s available … then we may open the jar

Would be a handy depth option for us.

The AFL Trade period should just be a lucky dip at a School fete. 18 jars with a bunch of names

Yes agree given that Geelong are participating in finals at AFL AND VFL levels. Current priorities of players would not likely to be beyond the finals horizon. Opportunities may still occur for promotion into the senior side and a change of fortune, from being overlooked to feeling more valued. Obviously a wait and see re-availability. I'm sure there would be multiple suitors in any case.

The media driven frenzy, rife with hyperbole and speculation about possible player movement has reached a premature, overheated, fever pitch. Personally I try to avoid the threads 'running hot' on individual players thru multiple pages on these boards etc. The 'lids' will finally come off by Black Friday 13th of October. Question the sustainability of it all. Hope nobody gets burnt.

Hawthorn also have a very good coach that seems to be very well liked and trusted by everyone. I’m sure that goes a long way.

Now I love what Goody has done for the club and I know the players like him, but cmon let’s deal with the elephant in the room I just can’t see that kind of work being done by Goody like what Sam Mitchel has done to attract players and sell them success. Everyone knows what Goody will do, boring defensive game play, it needs to change big time because the dees supporters need this change to get interested again too!!

What are you talking about? He attracted Lever, May and Langdon, who were all vital pieces to the premiership puzzle.

TPP then can become a problem when you win a flag.

People find it very difficult to understand this.  They think you can just grab top end talent every year and there is no such thing as a salary cap

THE HEAT IS ON by Meggs

FNQ will be hot and sultry this Thursday night when the mighty Demons take on the highflying Hawks at up there Cazalys Stadium in Cairns.   The Demons once again rebrand for Indigenous Round as ‘Narrm’, the Woi Wurrung name for Melbourne in the language of the traditional owners.   Narrm has surged back up the ladder and sits just outside the eight on percentage with 5 wins. Our opponents Hawthorn sit second with 8 wins and have been become really offensive.

    AWESOME FOURSOME by Meggs

The rejuvenated Demons out tussled the Tigers by 13 points to make it four wins on the trot on Saturday which means that the slight possibility of a finals appearance remains alive in 2024. This is despite the AFLW handicapping the Demons against their peers yet again (more later). Lots to celebrate as it was Kids Day at Casey Fields and both teams ran onto the ground modelling their Pride jumpers.   Kate Hore won the toss and kicked to the Clyde end. Thankfully, the notorious Casey

We’re back!  Winning the last three matches has recaptured our Demon spirit and, with superstar players returning from rehab, our Season 2024 dreams are not over yet.   So come along 5.05 pm Saturday afternoon to watch this Round 9 ladder-defining match at the Field of Dreams. Expect the Tigers to be fierce, but surely the Demons will be more fierce. Playing conditions are expected to be a dry 15 degrees with a typically gusty Cranbourne wind. THE TRADING CHRONICLES 03

Part 3: Happier Days by Whispering Jack It would be fair to say that when the Melbourne Football Club entered the free agency and trade period earlier this month, its reputation was flagging, if not in tatters. The club was taking a battering in the media and social media over a number of issues, some real and others imaginary and even fabricated, relating to the running of the club, team performance and its culture, a build up that’s been taking place for more than twelve months.
